SmackDown Live

SmackDown opens with a quick rundown of tonight's card before Paige welcomes the four women from SmackDown who will be competing in the MITB match on Sunday.

Paige puts over Charlotte, Lana, Becky and Naomi as deserving of the chance they are being given and asks them to promise to bring the briefcase back to her house. Lana and Naomi get into an argument and Naomi reminds us that she won the women's Battle Royal at WrestleMania. Charlotte says that was only because she wasn't in the match with her. The Queen starts bragging about all of her accomplishments and says the only thing she has left to do is win MITB. Lynch touts her own resume and brings up how she beat Charlotte last week.

Billie Kay and Peyton Royce come out to mock the women standing in the ring. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville come out to complain about not being in the MITB match. Becky leads the women out of the ring to start a huge brawl at ringside between all right women.

Daniel Bryan vs. Shelton Benjamin
Daniel Bryan won

Paige runs into Asuka backstage and she asks for a match against Carmella tonight. Paige says she won't put them in a singles match but agrees to add them to the eight-woman tag match to make it 10 total Superstars in the ring. Then she runs into The Miz wearing a referee's shirt and he makes up some excuse about preparing for a movie. Then he asks to be the special guest ref for Joe vs. Rusev and Paige calls him a bad actor but ends up putting in as the ref anyway.

Jerry Lawler comes out to a surprisingly subdued response from his hometown of Memphis. He talks about the WWE title match before bringing out AJ Styles for their special interview.

The interview is more of a promo. Lawler asks him one question and Styles talks for a couple of minutes about how he plans on retaining the title. Nakamura never appears and the segment ends without any surprises.

Rusev vs. Samoa Joe with The Miz as the special guest referee.
Rusev won
English grabs a ladder from under the ring and hands it to Rusev. Rusev sets it up and starts to climb, but then Miz pulls him down and hits the Skull Crushing Finale. He climbs up and pulls the briefcase down himself.

Jeff Hardy vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
Nakamura counters a Twist of Fate and hits a low blow to get himself disqualified. He adds insult to injury by hitting the Kinshasa after the bell.

Becky Lynch, Lana, Naomi, Charlotte and Asuka vs.  Carmella, IIconics, Deville and Rose

Becky Lynch, Lana, Naomi, Charlotte and Asuka won.

The MITB competitors all stare at the briefcase and Asuka to close the show. They let her know that if she wins the belt on Sunday, the winner of the MITB match may be coming after her that night.

Rating 70/70
Great show and matches as we look onto MITB.
