SmackDown Live


SmackDown opens with a video from Shane McMahon talking about his SummerSlam match against Kevin Owens. When we go live to the arena, KO heads to the ring. Owens jokes about Shane not being at the show tonight and how they will all get through it together. He gets serious and says Shane being gone might help improve the show. He says Shane has a stupid face a few times. Drew McIntyre comes out and attacks Owens before revealing they have a match after the break.

The King brings out Trish Stratus for The King's Court.
She says she was sad to miss the Raw reunion and praises Kelly Kelly for becoming the first woman to win the 24/7 Title. Lawler says a lot of legends wish they could have one last match. He asks if Trish feels that way and she says she will always have the itch to wrestle, but she is a mom now. That is when Charlotte's music hits.
The Queen says she should be on the SummerSlam card. She says a lot of WWE Superstars are parents and Trish shouldn't use that as an excuse. She challenges Trish to a match at SummerSlam. Charlotte tells Stratus to get out of her ring if she can't hang with The Queen. Trish says Charlotte wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the work done by the past generation. She accepts Charlotte's challenge.


Dolph Ziggler vs. Finn Balor
Balor knocks Dolph out of the ring and prepares to hit a dive when Bray Wyatt's new sound effects play. The lights go out and he appears on the stage. The lights go out again and he disappears. Finn turns around and gets drilled with a superkick to give Ziggler the win.

Kofi Kingston vs. AJ Styles - Champion vs. Champion

Kofi Kingston won


Reigns is shown walking to his interview when a bunch of equipment falls on him. He ends up being fine because some other boxes blocked the impact. He refuses medical help and walks away.

Great show and matches as we get closer to SummerSlam.
