SmackDown Live

SmackDown opens with Daniel Bryan heading to the ring.

Daniel Bryan talks about what happened with Ziggler last week and says since he can't get ahold of him, he is forced to look at his actions as Dolph relinquishing the title. He calls Ziggler one of the all-time greats. Bryan announces a tournament to crown a new champion, and it will begin tonight. He reveals Baron Corbin will battle Bobby Roode, but before he can announce the next one, Gable and Benjamin interrupt him.


Gable and Benjamin ask Bryan why he added New Day and Rusev and English to the tag title match at The Clash and mention how they defeated The Usos in a regular match last week. Rusev and English come out to add in their two cents.

It doesn't take long before The New Day comes out with their tray of pancakes. Big E calls Benjamin "Old Jason Jordan."

Bryan turns the whole segment into a Triple Threat tag match with the winners getting a title shot against The Usos. The Usos come down to watch from ringside.



New Day vs. Rusev Day vs. Gable and Benjamin (No. 1 Contenders) 

Gable and Benjamin won and became the #1 Contenders to the Tag Team Titles!


Bludgeon Brothers vs. Breezango 
The Ascension run down to the ring and attack Harper and Rowan to save their friends. They carry Breezango to the back while Harper and Rowan look on with blank stares


Ruby Riot vs. Naomi
Ruby Riot won

The Riott Squad tries to attack Naomi after the match, but Charlotte comes down to make the save. They eventually take control and throw The Queen out of the ring. Natalya's music hits and she comes out with Tamina, Lana and Carmella. The two groups come face to face and The Riott Squad backs off. As they try to leave, the four women in the ring roll out to attack them.

Bobby Roode vs. Baron Corbin 

Bobby Roode won and advances to the next round for the US Title Tournament



Tye Dillinger vs. Jinder Mahal
Jinder Mahal won and advances to the next round for the US Title Tournament!


AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens

Shane McMahon comes down to the ring and has Sami ejected from ringside. The confusion allows KO to roll up Styles for the win. Shane looks really mad as Zayn and Owens celebrate together.

Shane apologizes to AJ as he heads up the ramp while KO and Sami dance around the ring.

The show ends with McMahon looking depressed.

The show opens with John Cena!
Cena takes a moment to give his shirt and hat to a child in the audience who is wearing his old orange and blue gear.
A Merry Christmas chant starts up and Cena says it's the first time he has heard that chant because this is WWE's first live show on Christmas.
As Cena talks about WWE being his home, Elias comes out and plays a little tune as he walks slowly to the ring. He asks who wants to walk with Elias.
Cena says he is willing to walk with Elias and The Drifter says that was a smart decision because he is tired of being interrupted. Then the crowd starts chanting CM Punk and Elias says CM Punk won't be interrupting him tonight.
Cena says Elias is a jerk and Elias seems to have a change of heart. He asks if he can try his song again with the proper lyrics. Cena gives him one more chance because it's Christmas. Elias tells Cena to take over and then he decks him right in the face. Elias knocked him out with one shot to the mouth.

Angle books a match with The Bar taking on Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan in a tag title match. Roman Reigns walks in and Angle tells him he can have Samoa Joe tonight, but it's for the IC title.

As Wyatt raises the lights in the arena, Matt Hardy appears behind him. They get into a brief brawl  and Bray retreats up the ramp. Hardy laughs like a maniac as Wyatt stares a hole right through him.




The Zo Train vs. Alexander, Ali and Tozawa in a Miracle on 34th Street Fight.

Reigns stomps Joe in the corner and throws the ref away, getting himself disqualified in the process.

Several Officials hold Reigns back as Joe escapes up the ramp. 


Braun Strowman vs. Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel


Braun Strowman won 
Strowman doesn't stop after the bell and delivers two more powerslams to Dallas and Axel.

Alexa Bliss comes to the ring and talks about smashing through the glass ceiling all year in 2017. She also talks about the women's Rumble match. She takes credit for the Rumble and calls herself the gift that keeps on giving. The lights go out and Asuka's music hits.
Asuka grabs a mic and declares her intentions to win the Royal Rumble match because nobody is ready for her. Then she kicks Alexa's head in with a vicious roundhouse and dances her way up the aisle.



Cesaro and Sheamus (c) vs. Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan for the Tag Team Titles 
Seth Rollins and Jason Jordon won and are the NEW Tag Team Champions!

The show ended with Rollins and Jordan celebrating as the New Tag Team Champions!

Great show and matches as we look onto Royal Rumble! They could of did something better for Cena though.

SmackDown opens up with a video showing a few highlights from the WWE Clash of Champions pay-per-view on Sunday.

Bryan starts by talking about the Women's Royal Rumble match Stephanie announced last night. He calls it a turning point in WWE history. After he announced the six-man tag match for tonight, Shane McMahon makes his way out to discuss what happened on Sunday.


Shane starts talking about what happened at The Clash. He says he knows Bryan falling on him was an accident, but what wasn't an accident was him choosing not to count Orton's shoulders down when Sami had him pinned. Remembering what happened to his father at the hands of Owens made him stop the count. Then Bryan did a fast count for Zayn when he rolled up Orton and Shane wants to know why. Bryan says it was to protect Shane from himself.

Bryan says he believes in Shane's vision for SmackDown as a land of opportunity, but only if it's for everyone and not just the people Shane likes. Bryan says he wants their shared vision to come true, but if Shane wants to fire someone, it should be him because he doesn't want to see Shane turn into Mr. McMahon. Shane says he trusts Bryan and wishes him luck with the show tonight before leaving.

Charlotte is out after the break as Corey Graves throws to a video package hyping the women's Royal Rumble match.

Charlotte says the video package was great and talks about how important the women's Royal Rumble match is to the revolution. She says the fans are to thank for management listening. She warns whoever wins the match that she will be waiting to defend her title against them at WrestleMania. Naomi comes out.
Naomi declares she will be the first woman from SmackDown to enter the match. It doesn't take long before Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan head to the ring. Naomi calls them chicken heads and the crowd starts chanting it. She challenges any two of the Riott Squad to face them in a tag match

Ziggler plays footage from his first U.S. title win in 2011 and his second win on Sunday. Then he shows more highlights from his various championship victories. He says the fans aren't worthy of his presence anymore. He says he is goi
ng to give the fans something to remember him by and he leaves the U.S. title in the ring as he walks away silently.

Raw opens with a recap of Kane vs. Braun Strowman from last week's show. 

Kurt Angle comes out to open the show in the ring. He hypes an appearance from Brock Lesnar tonight. Before he can continue, Strowman's music hits and he marches his way to the ring. He says he earned the right to face Lesnar when he was the only one standing at the end of last week's show. 

Angle announces all three men will fight in a Triple Threat at the Rumble and then runs away from the situation. Lesnar and Kane take out Strowman before Brock hits Kane with an F5. The champ grabs his belt and leaves with his advocate while Braun stares a hole through him from the other side of the ring. Kane sits up in the ring and Lesnar looks a little surprised.

Jason Jordan comes out instead of Samoa Joe and he says he wants to face Samoa Joe first. He tells Rollins he has nothing but respect for him, but he has to wait in line. Seth tries to say something, but he is interrupted by Samoa Joe.

Joe suggests Rollins and Jordan fight to see who gets to face him. Seth says he already has a match booked with Joe, so JJ can go look for his daddy's approval somewhere else. Jordan shoves Rollins down.

Rollins tries to fight off Joe after the match, but he ends up getting taken down by the Samoan Submission Machine. On his way up the ramp he lays out Jason Jordan


Finn Baylor vs. The Miztourage in a 2 on 1 Handicap Match 
the ref is forced to disqualify Miztourage for ganging up on Balor and listening to the refs instructions.

Hideo Itami runs to the ring and helps Balor fend off Dallas and Axel.

Dean Ambrose and Seth is show backstage as Dean is getting checked out for his elbow Samoa and The bar come in and attack Seth and then Samoa turn his attention to Dean and attack’s and injury’s him! This looks like they’re going to be writing dean off tv.


The Revival vs. Heath & Rhyno 
The Revival won 

Slater and Rhyno are shown walking backstage and Angle tells them they need to toughen up if they want to have more opportunities. Slater worries that they might get fired and Rhyno tells him they need to change their attitude. Rhyno tells him he knows exactly how they can toughen up and walks away. 


The Absolution vs. Sasha Banks and Bayley and Mickie 
Rose and Deville run into the ring and attack Sasha. The ref is forced to call for the bell when they refuse to get out of the ring. Nia Jax's music hits and she walks to the ring.
Jax singlehandedly disposes of all three women. She lifts Rose and Deville up at the same time for a Samoan drop and makes it look easy. Paige clips Nia's knee and kicks her in the face. Absolution gangs up on her until the entire women's division comes out and beats up the trio.
Stephanie's music hits and everyone stops fighting. She comes to the ring and talks about the women's revolution starting on Raw three years ago. She gives all the women in the ring props for taking the women's revolution to the next level and breaking new ground with several first-time matches. She says it's time make history one more time.
Stephanie announced the first Women's Royal Rumble match to take place next year. 

The show ends with the crowd and the women in the ring cheering and celebrating the news. We all knew this was happening but it’s AWESOME that it’s really happening.
The Womens Division is on fire. They keep making history. Couldn’t be more proud with how much Women’s Wrestling has changed.

Natalya is interviewed after the match. She says she has been carrying the division for the past 10 years and she has received nothing but disrespect. She says if everyone wants to turn their backs on her, then she is going to do the same thing. She leaves the ring and starts crying. Does this mean she is walking away from WWE?! is she retiring?

SmackDown opens with a recap of last week's main event featuring Zayn, Owens, Orton and Nakamura.

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are shown passing out fliers for their Yep Movement. Back in the arena, AJ Styles comes out to deliver a promo about his match against Jinder Mahal on Sunday.


He is then interrupted by The Singh Brothers, They replay Mahal attacking them two weeks ago and AJ says he kind of feels sorry for them. He offers them the chance to hug it out.


Styles and the Singhs hug it out and they offer to be in his corner on Sunday. They swear they are done with Mahal and tell stories of how they were treated. AJ questions their motivations and shows pictures of them with Mahal in India last week. They still claim to be done with Jinder for good. AJ seems to believe them and offers his hand. Mahal's music interrupts and he makes his way to the ring. Styles accuses the Singhs of trying to fool him 


Styles dispatches both Singh Brothers with ease while Mahal watches from the aisle. After AJ tosses them out of the ring, Mahal checks on them to make sure they are OK.




Charlotte Flair vs. Ruby Riot w/ Natalya on commentary

Nattie finally lays her out with a clothesline to cause a DQ
Naomi makes her return to save Charlotte from a three on one attack. She sends The Riott Squad running up the ramp, but then Carmella, Tamina and Lana come out and attack them on the stage. 


Baron Corbin vs. Dolph Ziggler  w/ Bobby Roode on commentary 

Roode comes in the ring and hits the Glorious DDT to Ziggler to get revenge for last week and cause a DQ. He does the same thing to Corbin to end the segment standing tall.

Owens and Zayn come down to the ring after the break and declare the Yep Movement has arrived. 
Owens asks anyone who wants to join them to come to the ring, but only Daniel Bryan shows up. He does his Yes chant all the way to the ring. KO calls Bryan the inspiration for their movement. He asks what they are doing.
Bryan says the Yes Movement was never about him, it was about the fans. Bryan offers to be the second guest referee in their tag match on Sunday to make sure things are fair.

Jinder Mahal attacks AJ Styles during a backstage interview and leaves him knocked out.



Orton comes out and gives a quick promo to hype their tag team match. Nakamura agrees with what he says by saying "Yep"!

Owens accidentally hits the ref. Bryan takes off the ref's shirt and puts it on before getting in the ring.

The show opens with a recap of last week's events involving Samoa Joe and Roman Reigns.

Samoa Joe kicks things off with a promo directed at Roman Reigns. He says he is not impressed with The Shield and we see Rollins and Ambrose backstage saying they need to find Reigns. Joe continues to talk trash until Roman decides to answer his challenge.


Reigns heads to the ring and they immediately start brawling. Roman gets the upper hand, but Cesaro and Sheamus appear and provide a distraction. All three men beat down Roman Reigns until Rollins and Ambrose come out to help. The Bar and Joe end up taking control and using their finishers on all three members of The Shield.



Paige and Mandy Rose give a quick promo on their way to the ring to face Bayley and Mickie James. Absolution says it's here to rid WWE of the unworthy. Sonya Deville continues it by getting in a few words of her own.

The Empress of Tomorrow makes her way to the ring after the break to battle Alicia Fox in a rematch.
Alicia Fox's music hits, but she never comes out. Paige's 
music plays and Absolution comes out to reveal they took out Foxy backstage and is being looked at by an official. They tell Asuka she can either move out of the way or they can make her move. Asuka puts up a good fight, but the numbers game gets the better of her. The entire women's roster runs to the ring and starts beating down Absolution.

Dean Ambrose vs. Samoa Joe
Jordan rolls Ambrose back into the ring, so Joe puts him in the Coquina Clutch. The Lunatic Fringe takes them both out with a suicide dive. JJ distracts the ref, inadvertently allowing Joe to kick out of a pin. Ambrose gets right in his face and they argue. Jordan grabs him for a belly to belly, but Joe interrupts with a suicide dive of his own. He rolls Ambrose back in the ring and locks in the Coquina Clutch for the win after Ambrose passes out.

Braun Strowman vs. Kane (Winner faces Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble)
They take the fight into the crowd and Strowman tackles Kane through the barricade. The ref counts both men out, which means there is no new No. 1 contender.
Unless they do a triple threat for the title..

Both men are down in the ring. Kane sits up, and so does Strowman. They stare at each other for a moment. Kane tries to Chokeslam him, but Braun scoops him up and slams him through a table. 

The show ends with Strowman standing tall.

SmackDown Live



The show opens up with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn making their way to the ring. Sami is doing his cocky dance moves to Owens’ theme music.


Owens and Zayn talk about being the victims of a McMahon family vendetta as the crowd chants "You suck." They list off several Superstars the McMahon have had it out for over the years to prove their point.


Zayn jokes about how he didn't break the rules last week because he attacked Randy Orton in the aisle, not in the ring or at ringside. While Zayn gives his speech from the aisle, Owens gets with an RKO out of nowhere from Orton, literally it was outta nowhere. 


Shane McMahon comes out and books Zayn and Owens to face Orton and a partner of his choosing at Clash of Champions. But for tonight, Zayn will have to face Orton all by himself. Shane says KO is welcome to be at ringside, but he will be handcuffed to the ring rope. 


Owens and Zayn are shown talking backstage. KO says he is going to go find Daniel Bryan and fix Shane's decision.



The New Day vs. Rusev and Aiden English

Mojo Rawley gives a flimsy excuse for why he turned on Zack Ryder last week.

Bobby Roode vs. Baron Corbin w/ Dolph Ziggler at commentary 

Dolph slides in the ring and hits Roode with a Zig Zag to cause a DQ. He follows it up with one for Corbin. 



Charlotte vs. Tamina
Charlotte won


The Riott Squad comes out and Ruby gives a short promo on their way to the ring. Sarah Logan leans into her southern upbringing with one quick line and Morgan gets in a few words, too. Tamina takes the first shot at Logan, but their fight is quickly broken up 
while Charlotte leaves the ring.




Randy Orton vs. Sami Zayn w/ KO handcuffed on the ring ring rope.
Owens manages to cut the cuffs off, but Orton clotheslines him off the apron.


KO immediately attacks him after the bell.



Shinsuke Nakamura runs down to the ring and makes the save. He dispatches Zayn before hitting the Kinshasa on Owens. Orton recovers and nails Zayn with an RKO.



Shane is shown telling Bryan that not only will he be the special guest referee for the tag match at Clash of Champions, but if Sami and Kevin lose, they are fired from all of WWE.



SmackDown ends with Nakamura picking up Owens’ so Orton can hit one last RKO. Then he picks up Zayn to Nakamura can nail him with the Kinshasa.

Raw opens with a recap of Roman Reigns facing Elias last week.

Kurt Angle kicks off the show in the area . He hypes the tag title match. He is about to announce an IC title match when he is interrupted by his own son, Jason Jordan.
Jason Jordan says he wants a shot at Reigns. Angle doubts him, but Jordan says he has been able to compete with the best.
He asks for another chance, but Reigns' music interrupts before he has a chance to respond.
Reigns says he wants to fight Samoa Joe and tells Jordan he needs to earn his opportunities. JJ calls him a hypocrite and says he is the poster boy for WWE. Roman says he earned everything he has after seven years of grinding. Samoa Joe's music hits and he comes out on the stage to say he accepts Reigns' challenge. Jordan talks some trash to Joe and challenges him to a match. Reigns tells him to stay in his lane. Jordan grabs him and hits a belly to belly suplex.
Reigns tells Joe he can wait and agrees to defend the title against Jordan after the break.

Roman Reigns won
Samoa Joe runs to the ring and attacks Reigns, Jordan makes the save and suplexes him out of the ring. Reigns sends Jordan out of the ring with a Superman Punch.


Paige vs Sasha Banks

Absolution beats down Banks after the match while Bliss makes her retreat from the commentary table.

Alexander vs. Ali vs. Nese vs. Gulak

Gulak won 


Elias comes out to perform a song before his match. Eventually, Braun comes out to the ring.
Elias tries to take a cheap shot from behind, but Strowman catches him and throws him across the ring. Elias is able to push Braun into the post and break his guitar across Strowman's back, but the big man doesn't go down. He chases Elias down and levels him with a clothesline. He hits a running powerslam before going out of the ring to grab the steel steps. Kane's music hits and Braun watches for him on the stage. The Big Red Machine shows up on the big screen to taunt The Monster Among Men.


Asuka vs. Alicia Fox
Asuka won
Paige and her friends come out to the ring. They let Asuka leave unscathed. Paige tells Fox she loves her and they are friends, but Sonya and Mandy don't feel the same way. She lets Mandy and Sonya destroy Foxy while she watches with a smile.

Finn Balor vs. Bo Dallas
Finn Balor won


Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy deliver a dueling promo. Hardy vows to delete Wyatt.


The Shield vs. The Bar (c) for the Tag Team Titles
The Shield won via DQ but still tag team champions is The Bar.
The ref calls for the bell when Sheamus refuses to stop beating on Rollins.

Angle comes out and restarts the match with no DQ.

The Bar vs. Shield in a No DQ Match for the Tag Team Titles.

Samoa Joe attacks Ambrose and Rollins before they can hit their finisher. Reigns runs to the ring and chases Joe away, but the damage has been done. Sheamus hits a Brogue Kick and Cesaro covers Ambrose to get the pin.

The Bar retained the Tag Team Titles

The show ends with Cesaro, Sheamus and Joe celebrating in the crowd as The Shield looks on from the ring.

Rating 70/70
Great show and matches. However, I hope the Seth & Dean can get a real shot at the Tag Team Titles with no interferences.


RAW: Aftershow
