SmackDown Live

SmackDown opens with a video package recapping what happened last week.

Shane McMahon says that the RAW Reunion was great and that he was glad not to see Kevin Owens. He addresses Kevin Owens' SummerSlam challenge.

Shane accepts the challenge and then he plays a clip of Owens quitting in 2018 before Owens came out and said that was a very dark time in his life. He said that’s not who he is now, but he won’t have to quit at SummerSlam because he will beat the holy hell out of Shane. Then McMahon booked Owens in a match against Roman Reigns tonight.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Apollo Crews

Shinsuke Nakamura won

Nakamura attacks Apollo Crews after the match.

The Miz is out after the break for another episode of MizTV. He shows a video package of highlights from Raw.

Miz brings out Shawn Michaels as his guest for the night. HBK looks like he loves hearing the fans cheer for him again. He talks about going from being a young guy in the back to being one of the legends on Raw Reunion.

Before long, Dolph Ziggler's music hits and he comes out to the ring. He says everyone has seen enough of legends limping their way to the ring. He says HBK was an embarrassment when he returned to the ring at Super Show-Down. Michaels agrees with him but says Ziggler should be more embarrassed to be known as a Shawn Michaels wannabe.

The segment ends with Ziggler superkicking Michaels.

Charlotte Flair vs. Ember Moon

Ember Moon won thanks to the distraction of Bayley.

Ember throws Bayley back in the ring to get booted by Charlotte! Ember then hits an eclipse on Charlotte and then on Bayley! She stands tall heading into her women’s title match against Bayley at SummerSlam.

Kofi Kingston comes to the ring after the break and issues a SummerSlam challenge to Randy Orton. He asks The Viper to come to the ring instead of attacking him from behind. Orton's music hits and he walks down the aisle.

Kofi shows some footage of their feud from almost 10 years ago and says he should have stepped up back then and Orton used his influence to hold him down. They talk a little more trash before agreeing to the match at SummerSlam.

Kofi Kingston vs. Samoa Joe

Orton runs in to hit an RKO on Kingston. Kofi manages to avoid it and they have a standoff. Orton hits Joe with the RKO and Kofi hits Orton with Trouble in Paradise.

Kayla Braxton asks Finn Balor how he got in the crosshairs of Bray Wyatt. A rather shaken Finn Balor is unable to understand any of Wyatt's action. Balor says he's stared fear in the eyes before. He challenges Finn Balor to a match at SummerSlam. And suddenly, Firefly Fun House? Bray Wyatt says that Mercy and he are big fans of Finn Balor for his bravery. The Fiend? Not such a big fan. The Fiend accepts his challenge and Wyatt asks "Let me in"

Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens (with Drew McIntyre as special guest referee, Elias as special guest timekeeper and Shane McMahon as special guest announcer)

After some trash talking, Reigns and Owens lock up. Drew makes them separate in the corner as any ref would. KO and Reigns wrestle back to the corner and Drew gets between them again. Reigns decks McIntyre in the face and Owens knocks Elias off the apron. KO and Reigns corner Shane but McIntyre come help. Shane starts directing traffic in the ring while his boys do the dirty work.

Reigns and Owens eventually turn the tables and end the show standing tall after hitting Shane with a Stunner and Superman Punch.

Rating: 80/80

Great show and matches as we look forward to SummerSlam.
