SmackDown opened with an recap of the actions from Retribution.

Big E vs. John Morrison

There are the flickering lights and one of the Retribution members has entered the ring. Oh, the entire ringside area has been taken over! Michael Cole and Corey Graves runway while Big E and John Morrison attempt to fight them off. 

Bayley and Sasha Banks comes out.

Bayley and Sasha kick the ring announcer out, saying just like everything else in WWE, they can do it better than anybody else.

The WWE Women's Tag Team Champions are introducing everyone. IIconics first, Tegan Nox & Shotzi Blackheart next. Both of these teams have been beaten by Bayley and Sasha for the belts. 

Lacey Evans is out, followed by Asuka! 

Women’s Battle Royal 

Asuka lastly eliminates Shayna Baszler and is now the #1 Contender to both RAW and SmackDown Women's Championships.

Sheamus takes out Big E with a Brogue Kick.

Braun Strowman emerges and calls out The Fiend, reminding him that he said when he emerged from the swamp, he'd be the meanest S.O.B. that anyone had ever seen. 

Braun follows up, claiming that he would eat The Fiend's entrails.

Alexa Bliss runs down to the ring to confront the Universal Champion, wanting a conversation. Bliss says that they've been friends for years, but Strowman claims that he's been a pawn for her instead. 

Everyone that comes in contact with The Fiend changes, including you. Now get out of my ring. I want The Fiend." 
Alexa Bliss says that she needs to slap some sense into Strowman, and does so. Strowman laughs it all off before picking up Bliss for a military press. 

The Fiend seemingly saves Bliss from any harm, appearing and swapping places with Strowman. Or...did Strowman swap places with him?
