SmackDown Live

SmackDown opens with Randy Orton making his way to the ring.

Orton talks about how Hardy called him out last week and ended up regretting it. He shows a clip of the attack and asks if the crowd still believes in Hardy. Orton says he will become so violent during his feud with Hardy that it will make people want to change the channel.
Orton vows to erase everyone the WWE Universe believes in and tells the crowd it's their fault for not respecting him.

Backstage we see Charlotte and Becky talk about their SummerSlam match. They throw a little shade at Bayley and Sasha.

AJ Styles comes out to talk about his match with Samoa Joe.
AJ Styles addressed Samoa Joe's statements about his role as a father and husband from last week.
He said leaving family at home while traveling the world is the sacrifice they make. It pisses Styles off the most, he said, that Joe knows his wife. That he has a history with The Phenomenal One and that he threw it all away in a matter of moments.

"At SummerSlam, you'll be lucky to walk out at all!" Styles ended his promo emphatically as Joe was shown backstage, amused by what AJ Styles said.

The Miz gives an interview by satellite and brags about the success of his reality show. Instead of talking about his SummerSlam match against Bryan, Miz plugs tonight's new episode of Miz and Mrs. Saxton asks him what will happen if he can't back up all his trash talk. Miz goes on another one of his tirades about Bryan.
Bryan bursts into the room and starts attacking The Miz and his security guards. He has the upper hand until Miz hits him with a vase over the head. Bryan gets up and walks it off after Miz leaves.

SmackDown Live

SmackDown opens with a recap of Team Hell No's reunion last week.

Renee Young opens the show with an interview in the ring with Daniel Bryan and Kane. Team Hell No comes out. They talk about their unorthodox relationship and how they have come a long way together.

Kane says he returned because he could tell Bryan was going to lose his temper dealing with Harper and Rowan. Bryan vows to become the new tag team champions with Kane, but he also mentions how their last interaction was as opponents, not partners. Kane says he was just trying to win and Bryan brings up how many Tombstone Piledrivers Kane gave him when they weren't even having a match. He also mentions Kane attempting to abduct Brie and Kane brushes it off.

The Usos come out to interrupt Kane and Bryan while they are arguing. They seem upset that they aren't in the tag title match and make fun of Team Hell No and how much they hug each other. Bryan challenges them to a match, but Kane says they will get back to them. Before anything else can happen, Paige comes out to announce The Usos vs. Team Hell No in the main event. The Usos will be added to the title match at Extreme Rules if they win.

Jeff Hardy heads to the ring after the break for his United States Championship open challenge. He is rocking some sweet red, white and blue face paint.

The Miz answers the challenge.

Asuka nails a spinning back fist that connects with a loud crack to send Ellsworth running through the crowd. She chases him all the way to the back as they both get counted out. They run back through the arena and Carmella shoves Asuka into the barricade to protect Ellsworth.

Kane apologizes to Bryan for his past indiscretions and they get back on the same page during a backstage segment.

SmackDown Live

The post-Money in the Bank show opens with a quick recap of the ending of the women's MITB match before we go backstage to see Natalya, Charlotte, Tamina and Becky waiting outside Daniel Bryan's office. He comes out and says he wants to hear from Carmella and Ellsworth before he makes his decision.

Carmella and James Ellsworth come out to a chorus of boos as she holds up the MITB briefcase she tells the crowd to show the first Ms. MITB some respect. He is really hamming it up with the heel character.

Carmella trashes her critics and says it doesn't matter what they think because she has the briefcase. She says being the last pick in the draft lit a fire under her and she doesn't care about girl power. The Princess of Staten Island runs down the entire women's division one by one and says none of their accomplishments mattered because she was the smarter competitor. She brings up when Seth Rollins won in 2014 thanks to Kane's help and Bray Wyatt interfering two years ago to allow Sheamus to win over Roman Reigns.

Carmella leaves the ring and we see Bryan watching on a monitor backstage. Charlotte walks in and tells Bryan he needs to do the right thing and take the briefcase away from Carmella.

Lana walks up during Naomi's interview and asks for a rematch. Naomi runs her down, but agrees to defend the title because she is a fighting champion.

During a backstage interview, Orton threatens to go to India and RKO everyone in Mahal's family to get retribution for the Singhs putting their hands on Cowboy Bob.

Owens comes out and says he would have won the MITB match if everyone hadn't ganged up on him. He says he is going to give one lucky individual from Dayton a chance at his title. AJ Styles' music hits and he makes his way to the ring.
Owens says he is only opening this challenge to a local resident from Dayton. Then American Alpha's music hits and Gable walks out while Jordan stays behind. Owens says Gable isn't from Dayton either, but Gable says he just moved there this morning. He makes up an address and Styles says he knows the place.
Gable comes to the ring and claims he just moved to Dayton. Styles backs him up and the match gets going.

Bryan says people may have interfered in past MITB matches, but nobody has ever done what Ellsworth did. Ellsworth starts making fun of Bryan and his vegan baby. Bryan says if he brings up his baby girl one more time he is going to punch him in the face and fire him.
Bryan says he is taking back the briefcase and there will be another MITB ladder match next week on SmackDown. He takes the briefcase and leaves the ring while Carmella freaks out.

Luke Harper vs. Jinder Mahal
Jinder Mahal won
Baron Corbin teases cashing in, but he changes his mind.
Orton destroys Mahal all around the ring, but when he coils up for an RKO, the Singhs pounce on him. He easily takes on both men, but Mahal gets away in the chaos. One of the Singhs takes an RKO after diving off the top rope to end the show as Mahal is staring within the crowd holding the WWE Title.

The fact we'll be getting a second Women's MITB match NEXT WEEK is awesome and great way to give what the women the match they truly deserve now I only hope Ellsworth doesn't get involved again or is banned from the match. Other than that the show was pretty great and great matches.
