SmackDown Live

SmackDown opens with promos from Charlotte, Carmella with James Ellsworth, Natalya, Becky Lynch and Tamina hyping their upcoming No. 1 contender's match.
Kevin Owens opens the show in the arena talking about the Money in the Bank match. He says he will do what Chris Jericho never could and get the briefcase so he can become a double champion. Then he invites Shinsuke Nakamura to the ring.
Owens says Nakamura is shrouded in mystery and people want to know why he is here and what the future holds for him. He reminds Shinsuke that the last person to walk around claiming to be a rockstar was Jericho, and KO beat him into retirement.
Baron Corbin comes out and calls this the Highlight Show instead of Highlight Reel. Then he plays footage of him destroying Sami Zayn last week. Owens says he has been beating up Zayn for 15 years, so Corbin has nothing to brag about. Corbin calls Owens "Cartman".
Nakamura says he pinned Owens last week and Zayn beat Corbin twice. A brawl breaks out and Nakamura goes down when Owens and Corbin gang up on him. Zayn comes out of the crowd to make the save and clear the ring. Loud Ole chants echo throughout the arena as Sami says his fight with Corbin is far from over, and the fight between him and Owens is never over. He suggests a tag team match between the four of them right now.

Woods says they can do this the easy way or the hard way. Jimmy and Jey aren't intimidated and threaten to take them out back.
The segment ends without any matches being made or punches being thrown, but it's clear we have our next tag title challengers.

SmackDown Live

SmackDown opens with a replay of Jinder Mahal winning the WWE title at Backlash. We go outside the arena where we see a police escort for the new champion and the Singh brothers.

Shane McMahon comes out to the ring to kick the show off with a big Money in the Bank announcement.

After announcing Orton vs. Mahal in a rematch at Money in the Bank, Shane says he is here to introduce the five participants in this year's SmackDown MITB match. AJ Styles, Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler and Kevin Owens all come to the ring.

Shane tells Owens he isn't in the match at MITB, but Shinsuke Nakamura is. Nakamura past Owens on his way to the ring.

Owens complains about not being included in the MITB match when the

man he beat at Backlash has a spot. He says Shane is jealous because he couldn't beat Styles at WrestleMania. Shane actually agrees with him and gives him the sixth spot in the match. Corbin and Styles decide to voice their opinions.
Corbin calls Sami Zayn the Rudy of SmackDown Live.
Zayn reminds him that he was victorious in their match at Backlash and says he is more than willing to beat him again. Ziggler says he is the only one in the ring who has won the MITB match before Nakamura takes the mic from him and says he will win this year. Shane books Corbin vs. Zayn in a rematch and Owens and Ziggler vs. Nakamura and Styles.

The new champion says we can boo him all we want because 1.3 billion people are celebrating for him in India. He goes back to the same complaints about being ridiculed for
how he looks, talks and acts
Mahal's celebration ends without an appearance from Randy Orton.
These things usually end with the new champion being attacked.
