SmackDown Live


The Miz opens the show with MizTV. After berating the crowd, he brings out Harper and Rowan as his guests.


Miz is looking scared of Harper and Rowan as he asks them about Daniel Bryan. They say nothing, so he throws to a clip. He tries to stir the pot by pretending Bryan disrespected them last week when all he did was go to the ring.


Miz shows a clip of Harper and Rowan attacking Bryan and then cheers for them like a fan. He thanks them for helping him advance in the Gauntlet match last week and asks if they want to be in The Miztourage. Harper slaps the mic out of his hand, but Bryan's music hits before anything can happen. Bryan asks which one of them is going to fight him first. Harper accepts the challenge to end the segment.



Rusev vs. Xavier Woods

Jeff Hardy will be holding an open challenge after the break to see who will replace Shinsuke Nakamura in their match tonight since Shinsuke Nakamura is out with an injury.



Naomi and Lana have a segment with Alison Brie and the cast of GLOW backstage before Sanity heads to the ring so someone can answer Jeff Hardy's challenge

Usos come through the crowd and get into a fight with Dain and Wolfe at ringside. Young joins in and the ref calls for a DQ.

Daniel Bryan vs. Luke Harper

Rowan runs into the ring to break it up and cause a disqualification. The Bludgeon Brothers proceed to destroy Bryan while the ref fails to get them to stop.

Kane comes out and helps Bryan clear Harper and Rowan from the ring. Bryan isn't quite sure what to think and stares at Kane nervously for a long time. Kane walks over to him and opens his arms for a hug. Bryan shakes his head at first, but then he runs to Kane and embraces him. Paige comes out to close the show with an announcement. She books Team Hell No vs. The Bludgeon Brothers for the titles at Extreme Rules.


The show ends with Bryan and Kane leading the crowd in a Yes chant!

Great show and matches as we look forward to Extreme Rules. That was an incredible surprise and definitely something I definitely want to see again! I love Team Hell No!

RAW

Raw opens with a title card paying tribute to the late Vader before the show goes live in the arena with Kurt Angle.

Baron Corbin makes Jojo introduce him properly after she fails to do so the first time. Angle talks about the Extreme Rules main event and how Brock Lesnar's contract issues may have put the match in jeopardy. Before he can continue, Roman Reigns interrupts.

Reigns said that he wanted to hear what Angle had to say in person, but then Lashley comes out and says he deserves to hear the explanation just as much as Reigns does because he is involved in the match as well.

Reigns and Bobby trade some insults about their pasts. Lashley mocks Reigns for failing against Lesnar and Reigns calls out Lashley for leaving 10 years ago. Angle says there won't be the planned match at Extreme Rules due to Lesnar's issues.

The Revival come out while Lashley and Reigns argue about who should be the rightful challenger. The Revival challenged Bobby and Roman to another tag match and Corbin books it for right now.

Alexa Bliss comes to the ring accompanied by Mickie James to talk about winning the title from Nia Jax at Money in the Bank and being put through a table last week.


Natalya comes out and warns Bliss about how much time Ronda has left on her suspension. Bliss finds a few reasons to make fun of Nattie, including her love of social media. Natalya informs Bliss they have a singles match right now thanks to Kurt Angle. Nia Jax comes out to give Natalya some backup.

Bayley immediately runs in and assaults Banks with a series of lefts and rights..

Bayley continues the beatdown and runs Banks into the middle turnbuckle. She looks like she is going to leave, but then she grabs Banks and slams her on the floor. She rams Banks into the steel steps twice. The crowd cheers as Bayley's music hits and she walks up the ramp.


Rawley vs. No Way Jose

Before the match, Rawley runs down all of Jose's dancers at ringside. He takes a cheap shot at Jose after telling him a rematch won't be happening. The crowd chants for Todd, the guy Mojo insulted and then Mojo dropped No Way Jose with a right hand.


Backstage we see Angle tell Bayley she needs anger counseling. Hopefully, Dr. Shelby makes a return. I wish they’d just create the dang match already.



Braun Strowman and KO vs. Finn Balor and Constable Baron Corbin

Corbin tags himself in, so Balor kicks him off the apron. Corbin pulls Balor out and the brawl in the aisle. The ref counts them out as they fight on the stage.

Owens celebrates the win and offers a handshake to Braun. The big man looks at his hand for a long time before Owens realizes what he is thinking and runs away.


Owens is shown hightailing it to the parking lot only to find 

Strowman has already taken his keys from the valet stand. Braun apparently flipped over his car by himself. Strowman laughs and walks off while Owens watches some guys put out a fire on his car.




Dolph Ziggler (c) vs Seth Rollins for the IC Title

McIntyre pulls the ref out of the ring and causes a DQ to end 
the match. McIntyre and Ziggler attack Rollins after the match and looked to cause even more damage but Reigns came out to make the save.

He Spears Ziggler at ringside before heading into the ring to fight McIntyre. He sends McIntyre out of the ring with a Superman Punch. 

Seth Rollins won by DQ but Ziggler is still the Intercontinental Champion.


The show ends with Reigns helping Rollins to his feet.

SmackDown Live

After Paige hypes some of the matches set for tonight's show, Carmella skips her way to the ring to celebrate retaining her title on Sunday against Asuka.

Carmella gets serious and says she wants to be real. She talks about having self-confidence issues when she was young and how hard it was to get past it. She says once she valued herself, she became a champion. Then she turns it around and laughs at the idea of her having self-confidence issues. She says she has been moonwalking since she was in diapers.


Carmella touts her victories over Asuka and Charlotte and claims she did it all by herself. She is getting major heat from the crowd until Asuka's music hits and everyone cheers for The Empress of Tomorrow. It becomes pretty obvious right away that it's actually James Ellsworth in the outfit under a mask. He takes off the mask and hugs Carmella. He grabs the mic and says nobody was ready for him, especially Asuka.

Ellsworth says he is back to serve the greatest woman in history. He calls her better than several legends like Lita and Trish, and he even says she is better than Mother Teresa and Beyonce. The real Asuka comes out and walks the ring with a purpose. She gets in the ring and prepares for a fight. Ellsworth steps up and takes a kick to the gut. Carmella hits a superkick before grabbing Ellsworth and leaving the ring.

Jeff Hardy gives a backstage promo directed at Shinsuke Nakamura.

Bryan gives an interview about the Gauntlet match and throws some shade at The Miz. 

Jimmy and Jey give a pre-match promo about making names for themselves before Sanity heads to the ring. The Usos fire the first shots when Sanity gets in the ring, but Young Dain and Wolfe take control immediately. The take the brothers apart and pose for the crowd.

Harper and Rowan come back out and hit Bryan with a double powerbomb for no reason whatsoever other than the staredown they had in the aisle. The Miz runs to the ring and hits the Skull Crushing Finale to defeat Bryan.
The Miz vs. Rusev 
Rusev won and will be facing AJ Styles at Extreme Rules for the WWE Championship.
AJ Styles comes out to the ring after the match to lay the title down like a line in the sand to show he is not afraid of Rusev. They stare at each other before shaking hands. English does a fake out  with a handshake, so Styles lays him out. Rusev doesn't retaliate and lets AJ leave to end the show.

RAW

The show opens with a recap of Alexa Bliss cashing in Money in the Bank last night to win the title from Nia Jax.

Kurt Angle brings out Alexa Bliss to present her with the Raw women's title, which is apparently something she demanded. He says Jax isn't there, but she wants her rematch at Extreme Rules.


The crowd chants for Ronda Rousey as Bliss brags about her wins in the ladder and title matches last night. Then Rousey's music hits and she marches to the ring. Angle stops her from reaching Alexa.


Alexa talks a bunch of trash knowing Angle is between them. Rousey gets past Angle and attacks Bliss. Angle gets involved and Ronda throws him to the mat. She grabs the briefcase and hits Bliss several times. She hits Angle when he tries to stop her. Then she beats up the refs who come out to stop her. Ronda has lost it! She picks up Bliss on her shoulders and powerbombs her through the table in the ring.



Angle tells Rousey backstage that he is suspending her for 30 days after the attack. 


Seth Rollins comes out after the break to talk about retaining the IC title against Elias last night. He gives Elias credit for taking him to the limit before saying he is willing to put his title up again in an open challenge. Dolph Ziggler appears to be answering the call, but then Drew McIntyre follows him out.

Ziggler and McIntyre pour salt into the wound by delivering a Zig Zag and Claymore Kick after the match. Dolph holds his sixth IC title high to celebrate.

Bobby Roode vs. Curt Hawkins

We see a brief recap of the Money in the Bank ladder match from last night, Braun Strowman comes out to a big ovation. Jojo announces him as Mr. Monster in the Bank.
Kevin Owens comes out looking pretty beat up after Strowman brags about dominating everyone to win the MITB 
match. He says despite what happened, he wanted to be the first one to congratulate him.
Owens says Braun should listen to the advice he has to give. He says they are similar in a lot of ways and Strowman has never needed anyone to watch his back until now. He offers Strowman an alliance if they can help each other out. He asks for the first shot once Strowman becomes champion. 
Braun shakes Kevin's hand, but he doesn't let go. Owens knows what is going to happen right away and looks down at the ground. Braun scoops him up, but Owens is able to escape his grasp and head up the ramp.

Before Hardy and Wyatt can face Slater and Rhyno, Axel and Dallas come on the big screen mocking them.

Bayley tracks down Banks backstage and they have an argument. Bayley ends up throwing the first punch and they brawl until Sasha gets the upper hand and leaves her laying on the ground.

Kurt Angle tries to talk about plans for the future and Roman Reigns comes out to ask for another title match against Lesnar
Bobby Lashley comes out and he says Reigns doesn't have what it takes to finish the job against Brock. He says he has been trying to get his hands on Lesnar for a long time and it's his turn. Surprisingly, The Revival come out and complains about not getting their shot. They challenge Lashley and Reigns to a tag team match right now.

Rawley gives an interview after the match and says he has to bring more to the table. He says he is more worried about staying focused than staying hyped. 

Sasha is shown trying to leave the arena and Bayley says she is not done with her. Banks says they aren't friends anymore and drives away.

Seth Rollins gives an interview backstage about losing the IC title. He says he has no excuses for losing and only has himself to blame. He calls Drew McIntyre a problem he will deal with after he invokes his rematch clause next week on Raw

WWE Money in the Bank

The Money in the Bank pre-show is on the air! Renee Young is hosting the panel which includes Pete Rosenberg, David Otunga and Booker T.

The panel runs down the entire card for the night.


Samoa Joe is talking to the panel when Owens walks up and tells him they need to work together to take out Strowman so one of them can win the briefcase. Joe says he doesn't trust KO and tells him off.

DDT. She climbs to the top rope for the Twisted Bliss to get the pin and the win. Alexa Bliss is now a five-time champion.

SmackDown Live

SmackDown opens with a quick rundown of tonight's card before Paige welcomes the four women from SmackDown who will be competing in the MITB match on Sunday.

Paige puts over Charlotte, Lana, Becky and Naomi as deserving of the chance they are being given and asks them to promise to bring the briefcase back to her house. Lana and Naomi get into an argument and Naomi reminds us that she won the women's Battle Royal at WrestleMania. Charlotte says that was only because she wasn't in the match with her. The Queen starts bragging about all of her accomplishments and says the only thing she has left to do is win MITB. Lynch touts her own resume and brings up how she beat Charlotte last week.

Billie Kay and Peyton Royce come out to mock the women standing in the ring. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville come out to complain about not being in the MITB match. Becky leads the women out of the ring to start a huge brawl at ringside between all right women.

Paige runs into Asuka backstage and she asks for a match against Carmella tonight. Paige says she won't put them in a singles match but agrees to add them to the eight-woman tag match to make it 10 total Superstars in the ring. Then she runs into The Miz wearing a referee's shirt and he makes up some excuse about preparing for a movie. Then he asks to be the special guest ref for Joe vs. Rusev and Paige calls him a bad actor but ends up putting in as the ref anyway.


Jerry Lawler comes out to a surprisingly subdued response from his hometown of Memphis. He talks about the WWE title match before bringing out AJ Styles for their special interview.

The interview is more of a promo. Lawler asks him one question and Styles talks for a couple of minutes about how he plans on retaining the title. Nakamura never appears and the segment ends without any surprises.

English grabs a ladder from under the ring and hands it to Rusev. Rusev sets it up and starts to climb, but then Miz pulls him down and hits the Skull Crushing Finale. He climbs up and pulls the briefcase down himself.

Nakamura counters a Twist of Fate and hits a low blow to get himself disqualified. He adds insult to injury by hitting the Kinshasa after the bell.

The MITB competitors all stare at the briefcase and Asuka to close the show. They let her know that if she wins the belt on Sunday, the winner of the MITB match may be coming after her that night.

RAW

Raw opens with some of the MITB competitors in both matches in the ring sitting on their own ladders.

Angle comes out to talk about the Money in the Bank PPV and how the MITB match is one of the most grueling in WWE history. Baron Corbin's music hits and he comes out with a shaved head wearing a suit.



Nattie says she is ready to compete after a minor injury last week. Everyone starts talking trash to each other and KO says the briefcase should be raised whenever Braun tries to reach for it. Strowman vows to cash in on Brock Lesnar. Bliss eventually screams at the top of her lungs to get everyone to shut up. 


Bliss flirts with Strowman a little before The Monster Among Men ends the segment by promising somebody is going to "Get these hands" on Sunday.

Ziggler and McIntyre give a promo after the match putting everyone in the tag team division on notice. They promise to save the division by taking everyone else out.

Jinder Mahal comes out and delivers a speech about how he sees himself defeating Reigns both tonight and at Money in the Bank. 
Mahal taunts Reigns once he gets to the ring and reveals Roman will actually be fighting Sunil Singh

Mahal immediately attacks him and hits the Khallas.

The B Team vs. Rhyno and Heath Slater 
The B Team won
Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt appear on the stage after the match to tell Dallas and Axel they have no chance of winning the titles.

Elias is in the ring after the break. The crowd gives him major heat for insulting Arkansas before the commercial. He talks about how he will become the IC champion and gets the crowd to chant his signature catchphrase.
Elias sings a longer song than usual because nobody interrupts him like usual. He says he has a treat for the fans and shows off a special guitar he claims John Mayer gave him with the IC title painted on the front. Seth Rollins finally decides to make an appearance and runs down to the ring. Elias gets the jump on him, but Rollins is able to send him out of the ring with a backdrop. He grabs a mic and calls The Drifter a coward for running away.
Rollins sees Elias' new guitar sitting in the corner and starts admiring it. Elias begs him to leave it alone, so Seth jokes about auctioning it off to someone in the crowd. He acts like he is going to gently lay it down only to end up stomping on it while Elias watches helplessly from the ramp.

Bayley vs. Ruby Riott

Face To Face confrontation between Ronda Rousey and Nia Jax with the host/interviewer Jonathan Coachman 
Jonathan Coachman is in the ring to introduce Ronda Rousey, at which point we get a montage of social media reactions to the announcement that she’s going in the UFC Hall of Fame.
Jax says WWE is different from MMA and that is why she will win at Money in the Bank. Rousey says she is going to improvise and rip Jax's arm off. Coach calls her confident and Ronda says she has earned the right to be that way.
Both women brag about their accomplishments. Rousey takes off her coat like she's ready for a fight. Jax tries to hit her and Ronda grabs her arm. Nia nails her with a headbutt, but Rousey ends up pulling her down into the armbar anyway. Jax is able to block the hold and lift Rousey off the mat for a moment. Ronda keeps the hold locked in and Nia taps to get her to let go. It looks like Rousey can get her in the armbar after all.

SmackDown opens with Carmella dancing her way to the ring with her title and a big smile on her face. 
Carmella shows a video of Asuka's highlights in WWE so far, but then she plays a second video showing her loss to Charlotte at WrestleMania.
Asuka eventually makes her way to the ring to offer a rebuttal, but before she can do anything, Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose come out on the ramp. They talk some trash before Paige comes out to tell everyone Asuka will be facing her choice of Rose or Deville this week. She picks both. Paige says the handicap match will happen next.

After the match, Carmella takes out Asuka with her title and a kick to the face.

Paige oversees the contract signing between Styles and Nakamura from backstage instead of in the ring like usual. Nakamura refuses to sign because the pen is broken. AJ throws a fit and slaps Nakamura in the face. Paige makes him leave so Nakamura can sign on the dotted line.

Big Cass comes out after the break for an interview with Renee Young. He brags about how tall he is and talks trash about Bryan.


Andrade Almas attacks Sin Cara during a backstage segment after Zelina Vega reveals they will have a match next week.

RAW

The show opens with Elias getting ready to play a song in the ring.

Seth grabs a chair from under the ring to even the odds against Elias' guitar. The Architect gets in the ring and they square off with their weapons. Rollins slaps the guitar from Elias' hands with the chair, but then Jinder Mahal blindsides him and helps Elias beat him up. Reigns runs down to make the save.

Kurt Angle comes out and pulls a Teddy Long by turning this fight into a tag team match.

Curt Hawkins is in the ring after the break and promises everyone in the arena a free taco if he wins and breaks his losing streak. His opponent is some random jobber from Houston going by the name James Harden.

Baron Corbin comes out to the ring with a big smile on his face. He takes out Hawkins' opponent to cause a DQ and extend his losing streak to 200. He grabs a taco and hits Hawkins with it before slamming his head into a table. The Long Wolf dumps all the taco ingredients on him before leaving.

Natalya vs. Nia Jax w/ Ronda Rousey on commentary
Nia Jax won
Natalya appears hurt after the match and Rousey goes to check on her. Jax also seems concerned, but she and Ronda end up arguing a little. Ronda helps her out of the ring while Jax looks on from the ring with a look of regret on her face.

Tag Team Battle Royal
The B Team won and got a title shot against Wyatt & Hardy

Bobby Lashley comes out after the break to address Sami Zayn. He calls Sami to the ring and tells him to say whatever he has to say to his face. It doesn't take long for Zayn's music to hit, but he never shows up. He eventually calls to Bobby from the crowd with a mic. He says he will not get in the ring with Lashley until MITB
Zayn starts mocking some of the inspirational quotes Lashley posts to his Instagram. Lashley takes it all with a smile as Zayn runs him down.
Zayn questions whether Lashley was even in the army and the smile leaves Bobby's face. The segment ends with Sami leaving through the crowd.


Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss and Amber Moon vs. Riott Squad
Bayley's music hits and she runs down to the apron. Banks tags her and The Hugger goes wild on Logan. She hits her finisher to get the win in a matter of seconds. Banks and Moon look a little confused but still celebrate the win.

Banks and Bayley seem to make peace backstage after the match, but then Angle walks up and says their win doesn't count because Bayley was never supposed to be in the match. Sasha walks away looking mad.

Big Show appears after the break with some athletes from the Special Olympics to talk about this year's games.

Finn Balor vs. Kevin Owens 
KO trips him on the top rope and starts stomping him into the mat until the ref DQs him. Owens takes out his ager on Balor with a frog splash from the top rope.
Owens grabs a ladder from under the ring and sets it up. He climbs up, but his nerves prevent him from jumping off. Balor recovers and takes him out with another dropkick. Finn climbs the ladder and hits the Coup de Grace. He climbs up again and pulls the briefcase down.

The show ends with Finn Balor holding up the Money In The Bank briefcase while sitting on top of a ladder. Will this be the scene come MITB?!
