SmackDown Live


SmackDown opens with a recap of last week's events.


Kevin Owens heads to the ring after we rewatch his half-hearted fake apology from last week.

Owens says all he has heard is how Shane will have something to say this week and asks where he is right now? KO says he knows Shane isn't a coward because he is a very smart man. He talks about how he respects and likes Vince. Sami Zayn comes out to add his two cents.

Sami says Owens went too far when he headbutted Vince and tries to talk some sense into him for the sake of his family. KO thinks Zayn is just mad that he has done more than Sami has in less time as a WWE Superstar.

Daniel Bryan comes out before things get physical between the former best friends. He says Shane isn't there yet, but we will see Zayn vs. Owens tonight.


Baron Corbin vs. Tye Dillinger

He throws a drink in AJ's face and then whips Dillinger into the U.S. champ and both men go tumbling over the table. 

Dillinger fails to beat the count, so Corbin wins by Countout. Styles chases him out of the ring. 

Baron grabs a mic and says he knew AJ and Tye would work together and he
 got the better of them. He says Styles couldn't beat him one on one and challenges him to a title match at HIAC.


Mahal shows several more pictures of Nakamura with different looks on his face to mock him, and the Singhs just keep rolling around the ring laughing. The last picture turns out to be a live shot. The lights go out and Nakamura makes his way to the ring.


Nakamura takes out the Singhs before Mahal is able to jump him and drive his head into the ring post. He rolls Shinsuke in the ring and ends up on the receiving end of some of his kicks. Nakamura hits the WWE champion with the Kinshasa to end the segment.


The Usos vs. Hype Bros

The Usos won

The New Day say they want to defend the title inside Hell in a Cell. The Usos don't seem to have a problem with this.


Rusev brags about beating Randy Orton. He calls himself the Lion of Bulgaria
 and says he ripped the fangs from the Viper's mouth and destroyed the legend of the Legend Killer. He declares SmackDown to be his personal jungle. English sings another song in Rusev's honor.

Orton literally comes out of nowhere to deliver an RKO to English and Rusev.



Charlotte vs. Carmella

Charlotte won

Natalya come out to ruin Charlotte's celebration.



After the break, the familiar sound of The Undertaker's entrance music begins to play as The Deadman walks out onto the stage.

obviously, it is Dolph. (It was)


Bobby Roode heads to the ring with his trademark entrance to respond to Ziggler's recent rants. He admits Dolph is an amazing talent, but also calls him a hypocrite. He challenges Ziggler to a match at HIAC.

Ziggler says Roode is everything that's wrong with WWE and he's not on Ziggler's level. Dolph accepts his challenge.


Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn

Owens powerbombs him into the apron. The ref calls for the bell.

The medics help Sami as Owens watches with a blank look on his face. He attacks Sami again, knocking everyone else out of the way to get to him. He grabs a steel chair and puts it around Zayn's neck. Shane's music hits before he can do anything else. Owens shoves Sami into Shane before escaping through the crowd. The chair on Zayn's head hit Shane in the face.

The show ends with Owens blowing a kiss to Shane as he stands in the ring fuming.

RAW

Raw opens with The Miz heading to the ring for MizTV.

Miz talks about how he and Maryse will be having a baby before welcoming Roman Reigns to the ring.


Reigns talks about how he respects Cena after going to war with him and admires how much he accomplished in 15 years, and that's why he is proud to say he beat Cena last night. Then he questions why he is talking to an idiot like The Miz. He reminds Reigns that only one of them has a title right now.

Reigns tells Axel and Dallas to go grab him a beer and says Miz couldn't beat Jordan by himself. The Miz says The Miztourage is better than The Shield and would beat them. Roman disagrees and says they would embarrass Miz and his cohorts. Reigns declares his intentions to go after the Universal Championship and Brock Lesnar. Miz brings up all the people who have beaten Reigns, including Lesnar at SummerSlam.
Reigns tells Miz to put his money where his mouth is and have a fight. Miz says he has a pregnant wife who needs him and tries to leave. 
Kurt Angle comes out on the stage and says he loves the idea of Miz vs. Reigns, but first we will see Axel and Dallas face Matt Hardy and Jason Jordan.

Strowman runs to the ring and Hawkins tries to escape into the crowd. 

Braun Strowman chases him and ends up chokeslamming him through a table near the production area. He brings him to the stage and powerslams him through the LED wall.

Strowman grabs a mic in the ring and says he is on a path of destruction and he won't leave until someone comes out and gives him a real fight. 

Dean Ambrose comes out to answer the challenge. He has second thoughts when he sees what happened to Hawkins, but he heads to the ring!

Rollins tells Ambrose he is going to request a match against Strowman for next week, but this week he has to worry about Sheamus.


Alexa Bliss comes out to celebrate her win
Bliss says despite the boos, she thinks of all the fans are her friends. Then she says she is disappointed in all of them because they didn't cheer when she beat four of the best last night. She says everyone is too obsessed with what will happen tomorrow to appreciate being in the presence of a goddess right now. 
Mickie James comes out.
James says Alexa didn't beat her last night and brings up how Bliss talked some trash about her on Raw Talk after No Mercy. They go back and forth insulting each other.

Goldust attacks Finn Balor backstage after it looks like they come to an understanding

The Miztourage attacks Roman Reigns after the match and the segment ends with The Miztourage standing tall doing the shield fist bump. The Shield vs Miztourage soon?! The shield will destroy that poop group.

A Certified Celebration

Enzo brags about winning the title last night and compares the belt to a beautiful woman.
Enzo talks about having to eat his fair share of humble pie in recent months, but he is on top now and everyone is jealous, including Big Cass. He says he wasn't holding Cass back, he was holding him up. Enzo talks about "You can't wrestle" chants and all the huge stars who has heard it.
The whole cruiserweight division comes out on the stage after Enzo says he made 205 Live relevant again. Amore proceeds to run down all of them.
Neville finally joins the rest of the division on the stage looking like a man possessed. Enzo mocks him about losing the title and having big ears. Neville talks about how Enzo used to have a lot of hype, but now he was forced to go to 205 Live because nobody else would take him.
Neville says all Enzo has done is make a joke out of the division. Neville says he is going to end Enzo, but Amore says Angle signed something saying nobody could touch him without giving up any future title shots. Neville doesn't care and attacks him anyway.
Neville caps off his attack with a Red Arrow. He may not get a shot at the title while Enzo is Champion which would suck.

The show ended with Brock Lesnar leaving with the Universal Championship along side Heyman.

SmackDown Live


SmackDown opens with a replay of Kevin Owens attacking Vince McMahon last week.
Shane comes out at the top of the show and says what Owens did last week was cowardly. He calls his dad a tough SOB, and even though they have had their problems, they are still family who love each other.
Shane says he will give KO a ruthless beating at HIAC. He leaves the ring still looking as serious as ever. An angry McMahon is a dangerous McMahon.

Randy Orton vs. Aiden English

Randy Orton won
Rusev comes out and says he was going to a national hero in Bulgaria going into SummerSlam, but Orton turned him into a disgrace in 10 seconds. He vows to rip the fangs out of the Viper's mouth right now. Orton signals to the ref and the match starts.

Rusev won thanks to the distraction of Aiden English.

After Shinsuke Nakamura responds to Jinder Mahal in a backstage interview,

AJ Styles heads to the ring to defend the U.S. title against Baron Corbin.

AJ gives a quick promo before the match telling KO he has no idea what he is in for at Hell in a Cell. As the announcer gives the official introductions, Corbin attacks Styles and beats him down in the corner. Tye Dillinger runs out from the back and clips Corbin's knee. He clotheslines The Lone Wolf out of the ring and continues pounding on him at ringside. After a few officials get Tye to back off, Corbin acts like his ankle is broken. Styles pounces with an elbow to the face before locking him in the Calf Crusher.


Corbin is limping backstage when Renee tries to interview him. He yells at her about feeling violated and says he is going to get even.



Charlotte heads to the ring to talk about her father's illness and thank fans for their support.

Charlotte thanks everyone and says she learned life is fragile and unexpected. She promises to make every moment from here on out as big as possible. Before she can continue, Natalya comes to the ring with two guys behind her carrying something. She says she is happy Ric is doing better, but now it's time for something more important.
Natalya talks about how powerful women have been leading the charge to break down barriers. She says it's time to focus on one woman, which is obviously herself. She unveils a picture of her holding up the women's title. Charlotte is unimpressed.
Becky Lynch comes out and says Natalya is out of her mind if she thinks she is the best. Bex says the only place the title is going is back to her, which brings out Naomi. She says Nattie doesn't represent all women. She just represents her cats. Before she can ask for a title match, Tamina and Lana head to the ring.
Lana calls Natalya a "Crazy cat lady" and says this is Tamina's time. Nattie gets angry and claims she will be the women's champion forever. As she heads up the ramp, Daniel Bryan comes out. He books Naomi vs. Tamina vs. Charlotte vs. Becky for a shot at Natalya's title at HIAC.

Owens starts by apologizing to everyone for what he did, but then he says Shane asked for this. He swears he has nothing but respect for Vince and he only did what he did because of how mad he was at Shane. He warns everyone who plans on watching Hell in a Cell of what he is going to do to Shane inside the cell.

Dolph Ziggler comes out to mock some more entrances. First up is Triple H's signature walk to the ring.
Ziggler comes out a second time to Shawn Michaels' music wearing his trademark chaps and cowboy hat. When he comes back for a third entrance, he does it to DX's music.



Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch vs. Naomi vs. Tamina - Fatal 4 Way (Winner faces Natalya at HIAC for the Women's Championship)

Charlotte won and will face Natalya for the Women's Championship at HIAC.

The show ends with Charlotte celebrating while Natalya watches from a monitor backstage.

RAW

Raw opens with a title card paying tribute to Bobby Heenan.
 We go live to the arena, Kurt Angle makes his way out.
Angle talks about Cena vs. Reigns and Lesnar vs. Strowman, but before he can get to any other matches on the card, The Miz interrupts him with Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel.
The Miz complains about not having a match on the No Mercy card. Angle says Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Elias and Jason Jordan will compete to see who gets to face Miz for the IC title. Miz says there are countless Superstars more deserving than Jordan like Dallas and Axel.
Miz criticizes Angle's ability to manage Raw and how he has failed to be a father to Jordan. This brings out Jordan to threaten Miz. He suggests Angle add Dallas and Axel to the No. 1 Contender's match and Angle agrees. Miz insults Jordan, so the former tag team champion tackles him. Dallas and Axel try to pull him off, but he ends up sending all three men out of the ring while Angle watches.


Alexa Bliss vs. Nia Jax

Bayley makes her return.
Bliss and Banks stand up and Bayley take down Jax with a triple spear.
Bliss tries to celebrate with Banks and Bayley, but they aren't having it. Banks kicks her and Bayley hits a suplex.



A video package for Lesnar vs. Strowman shown.


Sheamus gives a pre-match promo telling people to stop caring about nostalgia acts like The Hardy Boyz. Cesaro  rants on the RAW Tag Team Champions and says something will go very wrong for them at No Mercy. They go on about how Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose  are only out for themselves, and how their friendship is fake.Rollins and Ambrose come out and declare they are brothers again. They mock Cesaro and Sheamus' outfits, and then Anderson and Gallows come out to add their two cents to the conversation.

Anderson and Gallows call everyone in the ring nerds, which sets Ambrose off. He attacks The Club while Rollins goes after The Bar. The champs send everyone out of the ring as we head to a break.

WWE plays a video package highlighting the similarities between Reigns and Cena.

Michael Cole does an interview with Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar on a split screen. Heyman does the talking for Lesnar like usual.

Lesnar thanks Strowman for giving him a real challenge because that is when he is at his best.


Roman Reigns heads to the ring after the break to have one last exchange with John Cena.


Reigns calls Cena a bitch like last week.. Then he brings up Alex Riley to reference how anyone who looks even remotely like Cena won't last in this business. He plays a clip of cena criticizing The Rock in 2012 for not being a full-time Superstar.

Reigns then said, The result at WWE No Mercy will be the same  except this time John Cena is  going to be beat by a different Samoan!

WWE airs a proper tribute to Bobby Heenan showing some of his career highlights.



Enzo Amore comes out and talks some trash about Neville on the stage. Then Braun Strowman comes out and runs him over. Corey Graves is ecstatic and the crowd is chanting Thank You Strowman as he hits a huge Chokeslam in the ring. He picks Enzo up for a powerslam and poses for the crowd.

Neville comes out and hits the Red Arrow to put an exclamation point on this segment.

Six-Pack Challenge (Winner Faces The Miz at No Mercy for the IC Title)

Jason Jordon won and will face The Miz at WWE No Mercy 
Miz tries to attack Jordan after the match, but he gets taken down with a belly to belly suplex. Axel and Dallas come in and beat Jordan down while Miz directs traffic. The IC champion hits the Skull Crushing Finale. 

The show ends with The Miztourage standing over Jordan triumphantly.

SmackDown Live

SmackDown opens with a video recapping the fight between Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens last week.
Owens heads to the ring at the top of the show. He claims he chose not to fight back last week because he respects authority. He says he is suing everyone in WWE until SmackDown is no more. Owens talks about how he will fire Sami Zayn first and criticizes Tom Philips and Byron Saxton for sounding the same on TV. He gets a lot of heat when he says he will cancel Fashion Files.
KO asks for Mr. McMahon to make his way to the ring, but Dolph Ziggler comes out to Shane's music instead. Owens is laughing his butt off. Ziggler says he was just testing out a new entrance and leaves. Then Daniel Bryan's music hits and he comes out.
Bryan says KO doesn't run the show and they exchange a few insults. He says Vince will be arriving soon and Owens won't like what he has to say.


AJ Styles (C) vs. Tye Dillinger for the US Title

AJ Styles won
AJ and Tye shake hands and AJ backs out of the ring but Corbin pulls him to the floor. Corbin launches AJ over the barrier. Tye comes out but Corbin drops him too. Corbin hits AJ with End of Days on the floor. Corbin tells AJ that he will be the opponent for next week's US Title Open Challenge.

Jinder Mahal did come out and did a segment (if you want to call that joke a segment or promo) regarding Shinsuke Nakamura and their fight at HIAC for the WWE Championship. 


The Usos (c) vs. The New Day in a Sin City Street Fight for the Tag Team Titles 

The New Day won and is the New Tag Team Champions 

Natalya (C) vs.  Naomi  for the SDLive Women's Championship w/ Carmella at commentary 

Natalya retains the SDLive Women's Championship 

Dolph Ziggler is back to tell everyone why entrances don't matter in pro wrestling. He says he is the best ever and doesn't need a flashy entrance, but then he decides to give the people what they want and comes out as Bayley.

He leaves again and comes out with The Ultimate Warrior's music and a mask that looks like his face paint. He complains about tassels and face paint not making someone a star and claims nobody can do what he does in the ring.

The Hype Bros vs. Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin

Gable and Benjamin try to shake hands with Ryder and Rawley, but Ryder refuses and walks away

Vince McMahon makes his way to the ring to talk to Owens.

Vince says Owens didn't fight back last week because Shane was beating him up, not because he respects authority. McMahon runs him down for being a coward who would threaten legal action. He says if it goes that far, he will fire KO.
Vince reminds Owens how many times he has been in a lawsuit and how he has never lost. KO says it was wrong for Shane to attack him. Vince says he only suspended his son because he didn't finish the job by taking out Owens' liver and showing it to him. Vince says Owens will face Shane inside Hell in a Cell instead of a lawsuit.
KO asks for Vince's word that he won't be fired after he destroys Shane and Vince agrees. They shake hands and have some tense words. Then Owens headbutts Vince hard enough to make him bleed. Vince gets back to his feet and takes a swing, but Owens knocks him 
right back down. An official tries to get Owens to leave, but he ends up kicking Vince in the gut. He superkicks McMahon before heading to the top rope. Adam Pearce runs to the ring and tells him to get down, but he still hits a Frog Splash on Vince anyways.
Stephanie comes out and yells at Owens before going to help her father. 

The show ends with Vince being helped to the back while he complains about his ribs hurting.

The show opens with a silent tribute to those we lost on 9/11.


Roman Reigns vs. Jason Jordan 

Roman Reigns won 

Reigns shakes Jordan's hand after the match to show him respect. Cena smiles as he watches from backstage. Charly Caruso asks if he has anything to say and he says he will go out to the ring and address Reigns to his face.
Cena comes out and mocks Reigns for taking just as long as he did to beat Jason Jordan. Roman says he was having a great match and claims to have had more great matches than Cena in his career. Cena says all he has to do is let Reigns talk and he will bury himself.
Cena runs down Reigns with a lot of pointed remarks about how he fails to live up to his nickname of the big dog. He tries to leave, but Roman tells him to get back in the ring. He says people usually call out Cena to make a name for themselves, but now it's Cena who is looking for the rub. He says Cena needs WWE more than WWE needs Cena and offers to hook him up with The Rock if he needs help breaking into hollywood.
Cena makes a joke about Reigns failing a drug test to end the segment.


Sasha Banks vs. Emma w/ Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax at commentary.

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman make their way to the ring.

Heyman lists several reasons why Lesnar is going into this match with Strowman as the underdog for the first time in his career. Then he talks about how hard Lesnar will fight to keep his universal title.
Heyman dares Strowman to come to the ring and fight Lesnar right now by imitating a UFC official before a fight. It doesn't take long for the Monster Among Men to answer the call. He gets in the ring and blocks a German suplex. Brock escapes the powerslam and suplexes Strowman onto his head, only to see Braun pop right back to his feet and stare him down. Lesnar looks stunned as Strowman grabs him by the throat and chokeslams him before scooping him up for a powerslam.


Bray Wyatt vs. Goldust

Bray Wyatt won
Wyatt takes a towel and cleans the paint of Goldust's face. Balor runs to the ring and Bray retreats.

Ambrose and Rollins join the commentary table to watch Anderson and Gallows take on Cesaro and Sheamus.




Rollins and Ambrose end up attacking Cesaro and Sheamus during their entrance. Anderson and Gallows help Cesaro and Sheamus before they end up getting into a fight with each other. The champs get up and back into the fight. It takes several producers and officials to separate everyone.
After Rollins and Ambrose are told to find partners for an eight-man tag match!


A promo plays for Asuka's upcoming Raw debut - coming soon!

He brings the bottom half of the steps in the ring and powerslams Cena onto it, which finally makes the ref call for the bell.

Before Enzo is brought out, The Miz and Maryse announce they are expecting a child. The crowd gives them a good reaction and Miz promises to be there for their child, unlike Kurt Angle. He reads a speech he has prepared about fatherhood, but he is quickly interrupted by Enzo.

The Miz runs down Enzo for being kicked off tour buses and out of locker rooms. He says Enzo had to go to 205 Live because nobody on Raw can stand him. He says he used to be in the same position, but he earned everyone's respect while Enzo continues to be disrespectful.

Amore implies Miz's baby isn't his, which sets the IC champ off. He and the Miztourage dismantle him as the ref calls for a DQ.

SmackDown Live

The show opens with a brief video hyping Orton vs. Nakamura. Tom Philips talks about JBL leaving the team and Corey Graves replacing him.

Orton gives a quick promo from backstage talking about how he has seen a lot of people come and go in his career and how he taught Nakamura a lesson last week. Nakamura gives his own promo from a different location.


James Ellsworth is introducing Carmella when Kevin Owens decides to come out and interrupt him.

Kevin Owens demands the ref give him his shirt, but Shane McMahon comes out before he can do anything. They argue about who is responsible for Owens' recent troubles and his lack of respect. KO snaps back and says everything on SmackDown has to be Shane's way. McMahon gets angry when Owens brings up his kids.
Owens says everyone would have been better off had Shane died in the helicopter crash, including his kids. Shane loses it and starts beating the crap out of Owens. Daniel Bryan and several officials finally get him to stop, but the damage has been done and KO is out by the announce table.
Bryan finds Owens backstage struggling to walk and apologizes for Shane's actions. Owens says he is going to sue Shane and everyone in the McMahon family so he can take the whole company down.


Natalya vs. Carmella 

Natalya won

Carmella grabs a mic and starts running down Ellsworth. She really digs deep and calls him a genetic defect before questioning how he is even still employed. She calls him a charity case who should have been put up for adoption. She finally dumps him and walks away.



Dolph Ziggler comes out and says nobody appreciates his skills and all we want out of him is a dumb gimmick. He leaves and comes back to John Cena's music wearing one of his hats and acting like Cena does. He leaves again and comes back using Macho Man's music while he wears a robe and has a woman on his arm

He leaves and comes back a third time to Naomi's music wearing her jacket and wig. He says anyone can be a gimmick, but nobody can do what he does in the ring.



Sami Zayn vs.  Aiden English 

Aiden English won

Daniel Bryan asks Shane to come to the ring. Shane McMahon eventually comes down and Bryan asks what he was thinking attacking Owens. He reminds Shane about how The Miz used to push him to the brink of attacking him, but he never did it. Shane says he can't help getting upset when someone insults his family.

Bryan says this situation is spiraling out of control and Owens is going to sue everyone. Bryan says he got a call from Vince before the break and 
effective immediately, Shane is indefinitely suspended.

Kevin Owens is backstage walking when Daniel Bryan approaches him. Bryan says Shane has been suspended and they can move on now. Owens says he's just getting tarted and next week he will make SmackDown his personal playground and Daniel's personal nightmare. Owens says legally there's nothing Bryan or anyone can do about it. Bryan says maybe not but there is someone coming to SmackDown next week to address the whole situation Vince McMahon.
