SmackDown Live

SmackDown opens with AJ Styles heading to the ring.

Styles lets the crowd chant his name for a long time before he says he wants to say something to Daniel Bryan's face. It takes Bryan only a few seconds to come out for his response.

Bryan sarcastically acts surprised and says he feels like punching AJ right now. Styles asks what's stopping him and says they don't have to wait until Crown Jewel. Both men immediately prepare for a fight, but they are interrupted by Shane. He says they are having the title match tonight instead of at Crown Jewel. He sends a ref to the ring as we head to a break.




AJ Styles vs. Daniel Bryan (WWE Championship) 
AJ Styles retains the WWE Championship

Bryan and AJ show each other respect with a handshake before Samoa Joe appears out of nowhere and attacks them. Bryan tries to save AJ from the Coquina Clutch only to end up in the hold himself. 
Joe picks up the WWE Championship and poses with it. It looks like Joe vs. Styles will not only continue, but it might replace Bryan vs. Styles at Crown Jewel.


Backstage, Paige tells Charlotte Flair that her match against Becky Lynch was awesome. Paige asks Flair if she will be the captain of the Smackdown Woman’s team at Survivor Series. Flair says she doesn’t think she is the right woman for the job. Paige asks Flair to just think about it.




We go backstage with Jeff Hardy wondering why people don’t learn to draw and talked about how every battle adds a new color to his self-portrait, every leap a paint stroke, and at World Cup he’ll illustrate his masterpiece and prove that he’s the best in the world.


Miz is also backstage to tell us why he’s going to win World Cup. He’s the best husband in the world, the best father, the best reality star, and so, of course, he’s also the best wrestler in the world, and at Crown Jewel, he’ll get the trophy to prove it.


Big E vs. Cesaro (Trick or Street Fight)

Big E won 



Backstage Shane tells Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, and the Miz if any of them make it to the finals of the world up and lose to a Raw superstar they will no longer have a spot on the Smackdown Roster.




Backstage Styles asks Paige to give him Joe at Crown Jewel. Paige makes the title match.

Becky Lynch comes out after the break and brags about beating Charlotte at Evolution. She does a great job being a heel here despite the cheers. She talks about facing Ronda Rousey and promises to rip her arm off at Survivor Series. This match just became interesting. Great promo from Becky.

The Miz and Randy Orton vs Rey Mysterio and Jeff Hardy

Hardy hits Orton with the Whisper in the Wind to give himself some breathing room. Both men make the tag and Mysterio takes Miz down with a springboard senton. He spikes Miz with a DDT for a quick two count. Hardy and Mysterio team up to hit the 619 and the Swanton for the pin and the win. Orton comes in and hits Hardy and Mysterio with RKOs. Then he hits The Miz with one for good measure.

RAW

RAW opens up with a recap of last week’s RAW when Roman Reigns relinquishes the Universal Title due to the return of leukemia. 
Corbin is in the ring when we go live and he wishes Reigns the best in his battle against leukemia, but he hopes he doesn't return to Raw. He has the universal title on his shoulder. Brock Lesnar's music hits and he heads to the ring with Paul Heyman.
Corbin tries to hype Lesnar vs. Strowman, but Heyman interrupts him and tells Corbin to leave the intros to him. Heyman says it's a guarantee Lesnar will leave Crown Jewel with the title.
Strowman eventually makes his way out to respond. He tells Lesnar he will "Get these hands." Corbin tries to get between them, but Braun shoves him away. Baron attacks and The Monster Among Men powerslams him, much to Lesnar's delight. Brock picks up the belt while Braun hits another powerslam. The Beast delivers an F5 after Strowman hits Corbin with a third powerslam.

Finn Balor vs. Bobby Lashley
Finn Balor won by DQ because of Lio Rush getting involved.
Lashley grabs Balor in a full nelson and wears him down while Rush talks trash. Lio slaps him a few times before Bobby drops him on his face. Rush gets a text on his phone and shows it to Bobby. They head to the back together.


Lashley and Rush find Corbin in the trainer's room after the break. He tells Bobby he likes what he did to Finn and tells him he is in the World Cup tournament at Crown Jewel. Baron tells him he is replacing Cena because he never qualified. It’s honestly probably because Cena doesn’t want to be involved with this whole Crown Jewel thing.


WWE announced that at Survivor Series we will see Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch

After Cole shows exclusive footage of Becky and Ronda having a confrontation last night, we head back to the ring for a 10-woman tag match.

Elias is in the ring after the break and he says Ric Flair has been begging to hang out with him. He replays the video from last week when he hit Corbin with his guitar. Elias says 
he is going to head backstage and give Corbin a personal
concert with his new song. Elias knocks on Corbin's door and the GM tells him to go away. Elias plays the song outside his door.
Elias' song gets Corbin to come out of his office, but he 
slams the door in Elias' face. Jinder Mahal attacks Elias from behind for some reason. Corbin comes out and mocks Elias before telling him to get to the ring for a match.

After the break, Cole throws to a video for Kurt Angle.


The Ascension vs. Bobby Roode and Chad Gable vs. AOP in a Triple Threat Match

Akam and Rezar immediately attack them.


Seth Rollins comes out after the break to talk about Dean Ambrose turning on him after they won the tag titles last week. He thanks the fans for sending their love to Roman over the past week. He asks himself if Ambrose turning on him was his own fault because of what happened four years ago.
Rollins asks Ambrose to come out so he can explain his actions. Dean's music hits but he doesn't come out. He appears in the crowd and Seth demands an answer from him. Ambrose teases answering his questions but ends up saying nothing. Rollins calls him cold-hearted for doing what he did on the same night Reigns announced his illness. Seth promises to make Dean's life a living hell and calls him a lunatic. That seems to be what gets under Ambrose's skin. Rollins heads into the crowd to meet him, but Ambrose just walks away.


Nia Jax vs. Ember Moon
Jax rolls her back in the ring and prepares to finish her off when Tamina heads down to the ring. Nia uses the distraction to take Moon down and hit a leg drop for the win. Tamina gets in the ring and stares Nia down. Tamina chooses to back off.


The Revival vs. Lucha House Party

Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre come out after the break to talk about Crown Jewel. They take credit for breaking up The Shield. Drew says he will be watching Lesnar vs. Strowman very carefully. Then, Ziggler talks about Angle wanting to win the World Cup. He says he has looked up to Angle for what he did for wrestling but he promises to beat him in Saudi Arabia along with everyone else.

After the break, Kane and The Undertaker come out to hype Crown Jewel one more time. Taker says they will defeat DX at Crown Jewel and take their souls to the fiery gates of hell. Triple H comes out and distracts Kane so HBK can sneak in and hit Sweet Chin Music to Taker. Before they leave, Taker sits up and stares at them as the show ends. The Kickoff panel consists of Renee Young, Paige and Beth Phoenix.


We see a video package to hype up tonight’s show.

WWE Evolution is officially on the air. The show opens with a special video
package highlighting how all this came about.




After the opening musical performance, Trish Stratus and Lita come out for the
first match of the night.

Becky Lynch as we close the show with everyone celebrating this historical event in WWE History.

SmackDown Live


SmackDown opens with The New Day coming to the ring


Big E calls out Big Show for flipping back and forth between heel and face more than a flapjack. Kingston says they want a match and they don't care who they face. This brings out Cesaro and Sheamus.


Kofi Kingston vs. Big Show

Before the ref can call for the bell, Sheamus and Cesaro each act like they will start the match before Big Show finally gets in the ring. Kofi dropkicks him immediately, but Show recovers and chops him in the chest. He grabs Kofi and delivers a Chokeslam, but he refuses to pin him. He hits a second and third Chokeslam while staring at Woods and Big E. He grabs Kingston for a fourth, but a brawl breaks out with everyone. The ref calls for the bell as everyone fights in the ring. The bad guys get the upper hand thanks to Big Show dominating all three members of The New Day with ease.

We see a montage of Roman Reigns addressing his situation on RAW last night and it definitely got me in my heart again. 



AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan vs. The Usos

Bryan and AJ are walking backstage and they are interviewed about whether their accidents were really accidents. They argue a bit when Bryan implies AJ might be lying. Bryan mocks the Too Sweet hand gesture as Styles walks away.

The Miz is in the ring after the break for MizTV. He gives Rey Mysterio a great introduction.

Mysterio says it feels good to be back home. Miz says the only reason Rey came back is that he wants to prove the little guy could still succeed. The A-Lister says he has been there doing everything while Rey was on hiatus, not acknowledging anything he did outside of WWE During that time.

Rey says he is disappointed because he thought he was booked for Truth TV. Mysterio challenges Miz to a match right now, but Miz tries to weasel his way out like usual.

Before the match can begin, The IIconics, Lana, and Carmella come out and interrupt them. Mella calls for a quick dance break, but it gets broken up by Zelina Vega. All of the women get in the ring and start brawling with each other. Vega appears to be the last woman standing, but Asuka comes out of nowhere with a spinning kick to the head to end the segment.

RAW

RAW opens up with Roman Reigns coming to the ring.
Reigns lets the crowd boo him for a little while before talking. He says he feels like he owes everyone an apology because he has said he will always be around. He says that was a lie because the reality is his real name is Joe and he has been living with leukemia for 11 years, and unfortunately, it's back. He says he has to relinquish the title because he can't defend it. He says he is not looking for sympathy because he has been living with it since he was 22.
After he talks about his battle with leukemia, the crowd chants "Thank you, Roman." All of his heat is gone as the crowd has finally seen the real man behind the character. He sheds a few tears as he says this is by no means a retirement speech. He promises to whip leukemia's ass so he can come back home.
Reigns says he loves the WWE Universe before promising to come back soon. He lays the belt in the ring before leaving. He shakes as many hands as he can on his way up the ramp before Rollins and Ambrose come out to give him a hug. Roman wipes some tears away as the crowd chants his name and he poses with The Shield.

The commentators take a moment to address Reigns after the break.

Triple H and Shawn Michaels come out and talk about how The Undertaker accused them of being afraid of The Brothers of Destruction. Triple H mock Kane's job as the Mayor of Knox County Tennessee. HBK makes a joke about new merchandise before getting serious. He talks about being called a nostalgia act and how it makes him feel old.

Triple H slyly brings up NXT, but it may have also been a reference to the XFL. DX says they are going to Crown Jewel to kick Kane and Undertaker's asses. As HBK tries to say his catchphrase, he is interrupted by the familiar sound of The Undertaker's entrance music. A video plays in the arena of The Brothers of Destruction in a graveyard giving another promo.



They announced that it will be Braun Strowman vs. Brock Lesnar at WWE Crown Jewel for the vacant Universal Championship.



Paul Heyman comes out and puts over Roman Reigns as a champion among men. He also applauds the locker room for how they are handling things backstage. He gives Roman credit for putting his healthy above his career aspirations. Heyman says he did the right thing for the title because the company deserves a champion who can be there all the time.


As Heyman starts to get riled up talking about Braun Strowman, The Monster Among Men comes out to confront him and says Brock is going to get these hands at Crown Jewel. As he walks to the ring, Drew McIntyre comes out of nowhere to deliver a Claymore to the face



Elias vs. Apollo Crews
Elias won

Elias tried to play another song after the break, but he is interrupted by Baron Corbin. The acting GM says they don't have time for another song, but Elias says Steph would want him to play. Corbin says he would fire Elias if Stephanie wasn't a fan. Elias tells him to shut up and plays a new song he just wrote. His new song gets a pop from the crowd. Corbin orders the production crew to cut off Elias' mic and guitar and tells him to get off the stage. Elias eventually leaves, but he comes right back out and smashes the guitar over Corbin's back.



The Bella Twins and Ronda Rousey head to the ring for their contract signing. Ronda gives a little girl at ringside one of her gloves as a souvenir. The Bellas bail as soon as Rousey gets in the ring. Ronda promises she did not come to fight tonight. She just wants to make sure Nikki signs on the dotted line.
Ronda gives Nikki her word that she will not attack her. The Bellas eventually decide to take their chances and get in the ring. Then they immediately start mocking the champ. Nikki then rips into Rousey for all the ways she has let her mother down. Ronda says she is going to end Nikki on Sunday before signing the contract and leaving.



Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins are backstage and speak about their emotions tonight and they express that tonight they’re going to beat Ziggler and McIntyre to become the new Tag Team Champions and tonight will be dedicated to Reigns and that they loved him.


Nia Jax vs. Ember Moon vs. Tamina Snuka vs. Dana Brooke in a Fatal 4 Way Match

After the break, Titus O'Neil gives a presentation honoring a handful of breast cancer survivors.


Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. The Shield (Ambrose and Rollins) for the RAW Tag Team Titles

Braun Strowman came out and cashed McIntyre from the ring to the back and left Ziggler alone.

Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins won and become the New RAW Tag Team Champions

Rollins and Ambrose celebrate with their new titles, but then Ambrose kicks Seth in the gut and hits Dirty Deeds out of nowhere. He almost looks like he immediately regrets what he did. He jumps on Seth and starts beating him into the mat as the crowd boos. He keeps up the assault at ringside as we get multiple shots of stunned fans in the crowd. He throws the tags belts at Rollins before ripping up part of the padding at ringside. The Lunatic Fringe grabs him and hits Dirty Deeds on the exposed floor. The announcers have been silent since the attack began.
The show ends with Ambrose leaving through the crowd. What does this mean for the tag titles?

SmackDown Live

SmackDown opens with a video montage of SmackDown's most memorable moments.

We go live to the arena to see R-Truth and Carmella in the ring for the second episode of TruthTV. He seems to think his show has been on for years. He immediately calls for a dance break.

After a second dance break, Truth brings out Stephanie McMahon, who gets a lot of heat from the crowd. She gives Truth and Mella a hug before taking the mic and sitting down. She recalls being the first GM of SmackDown back in the day. Before Truth can ask his first question, Shane McMahon's music hits and he comes out to a big pop.

Shane welcomes Stephanie to the A show and she tries to say Raw is still the best show because it wouldn't have started with TruthTV. The crowd begins chanting for TruthTV. Vince McMahon's music hits and he comes out looking happy.

Stephanie takes a crack at her dad by saying he has a hearing aid. Vince calls for a dance break and gets down with everyone to end the segment.



AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan vs. The Usos
The Usos won


After the break, Batista, Randy Orton, Triple H and Ric Flair come to the ring for their big reunion.
Triple H says SmackDown lasted 1000 episodes because it has continued to evolve over time. Orton takes the mic and rips all three members of the group while saying he has continued busting his butt in the ring.
Batista brings up some of the nicknames the WWE Universe has given him, but he says he has and always will love the fans. He puts over everyone in the group, but he makes sure to mention that Triple H has never beaten him in the ring. The Game gets a little angry but they eventually hug it out.


Rusev vs. The Miz - World Cup Qualifying Match 
The Miz won and qualifies for WWE World Cup thanks to the involvement from Aiden English.
The Bulgarian Brute goes after him and starts absolutely destroying him at ringside, but the camera cuts backstage to Edge talking to Curt Hawkins before the fight is over.




After the break, The Rated R Superstar heads to the ring for The Cutting Edge.
Edge says he sees a lot of similarities between himself and Becky and she says he was an inspiration to her. He says he knows what she is going through because he wasn't supposed to be a main eventer. He had to scratch and claw to earn what he had just like Becky, but he also knows what seems like the right choice at the time can end up being wrong in the end.
Edge says if Becky keeps going down the same road he did, she is going to end up all alone with her title belts not liking herself. She says she doesn't like herself because she loves herself. She tells him to get out of her ring and to be careful not hurting his neck as he goes through the ropes. Charlotte's music hits and she comes to the ring.
The Queen tackles Becky n the ring and they start brawling. A few officials run down to break them up.


New Day (c) vs. The Bar for the SDLive Tag Team Titles
Big Show helps up Kofi only to end up putting him through the table with a Chokeslam. Sheamus uses the distraction to hit Big E with the Brogue Kick for the pin and the win. The Bar is the NEW SDLive Tag Team Champions.


Rey Mysterio vs. Shinsuke Nakamura - WWE World Cup Qualifying Match
Rey Mysterio won and qualifies for WWE World Cup

As Mysterio celebrates his win, the lights go out and The Undertaker's music begins to play.
The mere mention of the name Crown Jewel gets some heat, but Taker says he has three words for DX and that is Rest In Peace

SmackDown ends with Taker doing his signature pose on the stage.


Rating: 100/100

Oh it deserves this rating the whole show was awesome and has some great matches and segments leading to WWE Evolution and Crown Jewel.

RAW

RAW opens with Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler making their way to the ring.
Ziggler starts by saying they are the greatest three-man group in WWE history. McIntyre and Strowman back up his claims as they show a clip of them defeating The Shield last week. We also see a clip of a frstrated Ambrose at the end of last week's show.
Ziggler and McIntyre talk about their upcoming matches against Ambrose and Ziggler. They get into a bit of an argument about who will win the WWE World Cup but keep things civil. Reigns and Rollins come out and says Ambrose will be there when he is ready. In the meantime, Rollins says he and McIntyre should have their match right now, and McIntyre agrees.

Ambrose comes out of the crowd to attack Ziggler. Rollins ends up winning by countout.


The Shield is walking backstage and Ambrose takes offense at being called a lunatic. He says he has his own match to worry about and walked off.


Kane and The Undertaker deliver a promo from an undisclosed location. They say they are more than ready for DX at Crown Jewel.


Nia Jax and Ember Moon vs. Tamina Snuka and Dana Brooke
Nia Jax and Ember Moon won

Tamina attacks Nia after the match with a superkick. Then, for some reason, Ember joins her in throwing Nia over the top rope. Moon then tries to do the same to Tamina, but they both end up tumbling over the top when Dana pushes them.


After the break, Ronda Rousey heads to the ring to talk about the Bellas betraying her.
Rousey is upset at being betrayed and just wants to know why. The Bellas don't wait long before coming out to respond. Nikki says everyone paid to see them. She says they don't owe her an explanation because this is show business, not show friends. Nikki says it makes her cringe to see Rousey at the forefront and calls her a loser. She says they are the ones who are responsible for the women's evolution because
they made the word Diva mean something

Rousey says she felt accepted when she first got to WWE but now she realizes she was too idealistic and naive to see what the Bellas really are. She calls them Do Nothing Bellas who are starved for attention who somehow succeeded with no talent. She says they used their men to get ahead and the crowd pops big and starts chanting Yes.
Rousey says she is going to destroy Nikki at Evolution and make the name Bella meaningless. The Bellas and Rousey argue over who has knocked down more doors for women in this business. Rousey brings up Cena and Nikki gets angry. They bring out a bunch of security guards who Rousey takes out with ease. Nikki and Brie are nowhere to be found after the mayhem.



Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler - WWE World Cup Qualifying Match
Rollins runs down and stops McIntyre from interfering. Ambrose shoves him and gets back in the ring only to get nailed by Ziggler with a superkick to score the win.

Ambrose and Rollins get into a shoving match on the stage until Reigns comes out and gets between them. Baron Corbin comes out with a mic and says The Shield will face
Ziggler, McIntyre, and Strowman tonight.

Trish Stratus and Lita head down to the ring after the break. Before Lita can say too much, Alexa Bliss and Mickie James come out on the stage. They pretend to know what Trish and Lita are thinking and do impressions of them.
Lita and Trish make fun of them and challenge them to come to the ring, but Alexa and Mickie decide to just walk away instead.



AOP vs. Kurt Angle
Kurt Angle is wearing the Conquistador costume because he didn't have his regular gear. Corbin sits in the stage to watch the match.
Corbin claps from the stage, but then Maverick realizes it's 
not Angle under the mask. It's just some random guy. Angle appears on the stage and hits an Angle Slam to Corbin.

Natalya comes out after the break, but she says she didn't come alone. Bayley's music hits and she comes out, followed by Sasha Banks.


Natalya vs Ruby Riott
Logan comes in and breaks it up to cause a DQ and to start a brawl with all six women. The Riott Squad gain the upper hand for a moment, but Sasha and Bayley eventually send them running.



Elias is in the ring after the break. He plays a nice little melody to get a pop from the crowd before he inevitably gets them to turn on him. Apollo Crews eventually comes out to interrupt him.
Elias says he heard Crews was talented but has yet to see it. He sneaks in a Philly Flyers insult to get some heat. Apollo
says he has held himself back for too long while people have 
passed him by, including Elias. The singer tries to go after him, but Apollo hits a kick and lifts him up in a gorilla press, holding him there for a long time before dropping him on his face.




The Shield vs. Strowman, McIntyre, and Ziggler

It looks like Ambrose and The Shield are already back on good terms after he almost hit Seth with Dirty Deeds during the match.
The Shield leave to celebrate while Strowman gets in the ring to deal with his teammates. He grabs Ziggler and yells at him before hitting the powerslam. McIntyre takes out Strowman with another Claymore Kick. McIntyre leaves his partner and Strowman in the ring to end the show.

Rating 80/80: Awesome show and matches as we look to WWE Evolution and WWE Crown Jewel.
