SmackDown Live

SmackDown opens with Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella heading to the ring.
Renee Young interviews them about their upcoming match against Miz and Maryse. Young shows a clip of The Miz challenging Bryan in an empty arena earlier today when they knew nobody would come out. The Yes Man calls Miz and Maryse cowards and Brie agrees.
Bryan and Brie challenge The It Couple to come out for a fight, but Young informs them that Miz and Maryse are no longer in the building. Andrade "Cien" Almas and Zelina Vega come out instead.

Miz and Maryse appear on the big screen after the match to say they are taking the night off and will see Bryan and Brie at Hell in a Cell.


Back in the arena, the announcers recap the feud between Becky Lynch and Charlotte before they are interviewed.
Flair goes on about how Becky threw away their five-year friendship. She dares Becky to do the same in her face. Becky promises she will because she's all about taking now. Becky says it was a full time job being Flair's friend. Becky is all about taking back her spot at the top. Becky doesn't care what it takes, the title will come back where it belongs. Flair says Becky will get her wish at Hell In a Cell. Flair says Becky was never second best as her friend but she is in the ring. 


Noami vs. Peyton Royce

Asuka helps Naomi up after sending Kay and Royce up the ramp. 


Then we get a special video package for Hardy vs. Orton at Hell in a Cell.


Samoa Joe comes out and addresses AJ Styles and his family. He says he did Wendy a favor by forcing AJ to stay home this week.
turns out AJ is actually in the building and he comes out to 
face Joe. He runs to the ring, but Joe gets in the first shot. They brawl all around the ring until Joe throws AJ into the steel steps. He grabs a chair, but Styles leaps off the steps and takes him down before he can use it. The Phenomenal One picks up the chair and tries to hit Joe. Samoa Joe ducks and retreats while officials come down to break up the fight. AJ gets in the ring and hits a springboard dive to take out Joe and a few refs. Paige comes out to talk the champ down.


The Usos vs Sanity vs. Rusev Day - winner advances to face Cesaro & Sheamus to determine the #1 contender for the TagTeamTitles and faces New Day at HIAC

The Miz and Maryse grab a couple of mics to address the crowd before Truth and Carmella come out. They try to call out Bryan and Brie again knowing they have already left the building.

As Miz sets up for his finisher, Bryan's music hits. Truth uses the distraction to get the win with a victory roll. Bryan hits the ring and starts beating on Miz while Brie goes after Maryse.

Vega and Almas come out and make the save for Miz and Maryse. Bryan and Brie put both of them in the Yes Lock.

The show ends with Bryan and Brie standing tall.

Pretty awesome show and matches as we look onto HIAC!

RAW


Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre, and Dolph Ziggler come out to open the show. Renee Young is back on commentary this week.

Braun starts by playing a clip from last week showing him turning on Reigns during their tag match with Ziggler and McIntyre. He says it was justice for what The Shield did to him. He tries to get some heat by saying he doesn't care if the crowd likes it or not.

The Shield's music hits and Constable Corbin orders some Superstars to go stop them. The Shield runs through them and surrounds the ring. Corbin sends more wrestlers down to the ring, but they suffer the same fate. Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose eventually get in the ring and attack, but Corbin empties the locker room to stop the fight.

We return from the break to see The Shield being arrested backstage. Corbin says he will work on their release, but he obviously doesn't care too much.

Elias is in the ring after the break to serenade us once again. He sings about being slapped by an insane girl.

Alexa Bliss, Mickie James, and Alicia Fox interrupt Elias' performance, but he doesn't seem upset about it. She chastises him for mocking Columbus where she grew up. She gets an OH-IO chant going before calling everyone in the state an imbecile.

Bliss flirts with Elias and asks him to play a song, but Ronda Rousey comes out before he can and Natalya joins her.

Ronda comes in and fights off Mickie and Alicia before Bliss chop blocks her knee. She throws Rousey into the steel steps, but Ronda recovers and hits a few punches. She tends to Nattie as Bliss and company head up the ramp.




Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre tell Corbin they want the Tag Team Titles tonight and he tells them they’ve already advertised the Revival vs. B Team tonight and then they ask what would happen if they can’t compete and then Corbin said he’d make other arrangements if that happened.

Ziggler & McIntyre take out The Revival backstage during an interview and The Revival are expected out next to face the B Team for the Tag Team Titles.




The B Team come out and The Revival music hits and they don’t come out as expected.

Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre won and are the New RAW Tag Team Titles.




Drake Maverick promises to make The Authors of Pain the next tag champs as their manager, but he will continue being the GM of 205 Live.


AOP vs. Jobbers

We see a video package of legends talking about Undertaker vs. Triple H at WWE SSD and their predictions of the last ever match of this rivalry.




Shawn Michaels takes in the huge pop the crowd gives him when he comes out to talk about Triple H and The Undertaker. He plugs his new shirt before talking about Super Show-Down.

HBK says he thinks Triple H has the advantage in his match against The Undertaker. The familiar bell sounds and the lights drop in the arena. The Undertaker emerges from the smoke as the crowd goes wild.

The Undertaker says this is personal and talks about the friendship between Triple H and Shawn Michaels. He says he 
took the best both of them had for 20 years and put both of them down. He says HBK is backing Triple H because Taker ended his career. Shawn says he is a man of his word and has stayed retired no matter how many times he has been asked to come back. He says he has stayed retired because he is a man of honor and integrity who respects The Undertaker.

Michaels says he has been hounded for years to have one more match and he has turned down millions of dollars each time out of respect for The Undertaker. The Deadman asks if it's respect or fear keeping him away. He says if Michaels came for him again, he would put him down just like last time. He vows to put down Triple H once and for all before leaving the ring. - is this a tease for the last match between Undertaker vs. Shawn at WrestleMania who wouldn’t want to see that? That would be epic and it should be the last of Undertaker if it does happen what a way to end such a career.



Bayley and Sasha Banks vs. Dana Brooke and Ember Moon

Brooke seemed distracted by Crews and Titus outside the ring.



Brooke tells Titus & Crews that she is done and walks away.







Lashley heads to the ring after the break for his meditation session with Jinder Mahal. They all sit in the ring together. Bobby tries his best to be entertaining while mocking Mahal. Kevin Owens appears from out of nowhere and attacks Lashley. Bobby pushes him to the corner, but Mahal helps KO distract him long enough so he can hit a superkick.





Finn Balor vs. Braun Strowman

Braun, Dolph and Drew prepare to hit the Triple Powerbomb on Balor onto the steel steps, but then a siren starts playing. They look around until they spot a police van backing into the arena. Reigns stepped out of the driver's seat and open the back doors for Rollins and Ambrose. The Shield goes after the trio, but Owens leads several wrestlers down the ramp to stop them. The heels destroy The Shield in different places around the arena. We watch as every member of The Shield is decimated in different ways. Strowman powerslams Reigns on the floor while Rollins and Ambrose are dragged down the ramp. A dozen Superstars surround The Shield at ringside while Braun, Dolph, and Drew get in the ring. The show ends with The Shield at their most vulnerable.



Rating 80/80 Incredible show and matches as we look forward to HIAC, WWE SSD, WWEEvolution.

SmackDown Live


SmackDown opens with The New Day heading to the ring to celebrate defeating The Bludgeon Brothers to become five-time tag champs last week.



Xavier Woods plugs an upcoming appearance at Dragon-Con before they all talk about winning the titles last week. Big E makes a big deal out of being five-time champs but before he can finish, Booker T comes out to his King Booker music.



King Booker congratulates Lord Xavier the Wise, Sir Kofi the Brave and Big E. The powerhouse is upset he didn't get a nickname. E says Booker went full Saxton and Booker gets mad. He smiles and welcomes them to the five-time club. They encourage him to do a spinarooni to end the segment.





The Bar vs. Colons vs. Anderson and Gallows

Jeff Hardy comes out 


Jeff Hardy talks about Randy Orton's obsession with him has messed with his mind.

Hardy calls out Orton so they can finish what they started last week. Randy comes out on the stage and says Jeff finally knows who he truly is when he looks in the mirror. The Viper says he isn't finished with Hardy yet. He wants to take away everything from this version of Jeff Hardy, again, hinting toward a potential change in Jeff's character. Orton says he won't fight on Jeff's terms, but he will take Hardy out eventually.

Jeff reveals he and Orton will be fighting inside Hell in a Cell. Orton just drops the mic and walks away.



Naomi vs. Billie Kay

Bryan and Brie come to the ring to talk about their upcoming match against Maryse and The Miz at HIAC. Brie says she couldn't sit back and watch her husband be attacked and that is why she punched The Miz in the face and they say they both can’t hide behind each other at hell in a cell. Before they say more Andrade Almas and Zelina Vega come out.

Vega says Almas has done a lot since coming to SmackDown, and now it's time for him to outwrestle Daniel Bryan. Daniel asks Paige to come out and make it official. She doesn't show up right away, but she shows up eventually acting like she is out of breath from running to the stage. She asks if the crowd wants to see Almas vs. Bryan. They chant Yes so she makes it official.

The Miz music hits and out comes The Miz to interrupt. Almas comes from behind and decks Bryan. Bryan runs the ropes and nails a big dive on Miz. Bryan unloads but this allows Almas to leap out and take him down



Maryse comes out of nowhere and nails Brie, then sends her face-first into the ring post. Miz takes advantage of the chaos and comes in the ring, decking Bryan with a cheap shot for the disqualification.

After the bell, Almas hits the double underhook DDT on Bryan in the middle of the ring while Miz watches. Miz applies the Yes Lock on Bryan while Vega hits the running double knees on Brie in the corner. Almas and Vega leave the ring. Maryse drops Brie on her head while Miz forces Bryan to watch. Bryan crawls for Brie but Miz picks him up and hits the Skull Crushing Finale. The It Couple stands tall over Bryan and Brie,



AJ Styles comes out the ring.

AJ says their match is now official for Hell In a Cell and the title will be on the line. AJ says Joe is good with these mind games because he has AJ right where he wants him. AJ goes on about how Joe isn't a real man. AJ says he's going to put a stop to these games right here, right now. AJ says he's the WWE Champion and he makes the rules on SmackDown. AJ doesn't have to wait until Hell In a Cell. AJ calls Joe to the ring and says this isn't a threat, it's a demand by the WWE Champion. AJ says he's going to knock Joe's teeth down his throat. AJ drops the mic and waits for a fight.

Samoa Joe calls AJ's wife while AJ is in the ring. He continues to play mind games heading into their Hell in a Cell Match.

 AJ is mad now. He leaves the ring and runs to the back to find Samoa Joe. 





Charlotte (c) vs. Carmella for the SDLive Women’s Championship 

Charlotte retains the SDLive WomensTitle 

After Charlotte retains the title against Carmella, Becky Lynch attacks her. She grabs the title and a mic. She tells Charlotte she is taking her title back and calls Charlotte a bitch. 



The show ends with Lynch dropping the title and leaving as the fans chant her name.

RAW

RAW opens with Roman Reigns coming out with the Universal Championship.

He says he told Braun he would meet him in the ring at the top of the show and he showed up as promised. He calls out Strowman or anyone else who wants to take a shot at the Big Dog. As expected, Braun heads to the ring.


Strowman mentions Reigns needing his boys to help him last week and Reigns says The Shield is a brotherhood of workhorses who know what it's like for him to be the champion, whereas Braun has never been at the top of the mountain. Braun says he won't cash in tonight because he knows The Shield would interfere. He makes an offer to wait until Hell in a Cell to cash in his contract so Ambrose and Rollins can't get inside the cage with them. Roman agrees and they shake hands to make it official. Dolph Ziggler's music hits and he comes out with Drew McIntyre.


Reigns does the talking for Rollins when Ziggler starts talking trash instead of Seth coming out and doing it himself. McIntyre and Ziggler say they are looking for a new challenge and have picked Reigns and Strowman as their targets. Reigns challenged them to come to the ring, but Baron Corbin interrupts before they can leave the stage. He says Strowman vs. Reigns has been approved for HIAC.





Baron Corbin vs. Finn Balor

Corbin avoids the Coup de Grace and uses the chair to get himself disqualified. He grabs a mic and says he forgot to announce this was a no DQ match and orders it to be restarted. The bell rings and he nails Balor with the chair in the back. He hits The End of Days for the pin and the win.


We see a video package of Legends and Hall of Famers share their thoughts on Undertaker vs. Triple H doing battle for the last time at Super Show Down.



Shawn Michaels comes to RAW Next Week to give his take on this Undertaker vs Triple H last time ever at Super Show Down - I kinda hope he becomes the referee for this too. I mean come on.




Sasha Banks vs. Dana Brooke

Jinder Mahal finds Dean Ambrose standing alone in the back and tries to get him to do breathing exercises. Ambrose closes his eyes and says the only thing he can see is himself beating up Mahal.

Rollins comes out and talks to the crowd about the reunion of The Shield last week. He says this week is all about IC Championship business. He says his dance card is open, so he issues an open challenge for the IC title right now. Kevin Owens' music hits and he 
comes out.
KO says things haven't improved for him since he moved from SmackDown like he thought they would. He says not having his best friend, Sami Zayn by his side led to him losing to Braun Strowman and not getting the MITB briefcase. He says he isn't leaving without a title and the match is set.

Owens is sitting in a chair in the middle of the ring when we return from a break. He says "I quit" and drops the mic before leaving the ring.




The B Team vs. The Revival

The Revival take out Bo Dallas after the match.

Dash and Dawson grab the titles and a mic from the timekeeper. They talk about the Raw tag division being a joke because of the B-Team. Dawson tells Dallas and Axel to keep the belts clean because The Revival can take them whenever they want.
Elias plays a quick tune after the break before asking who wants to walk with Elias.

As Elias trashes Toronto, Trish Stratus' music hits and she makes her way to the ring. She says she is a fan but doesn't like hearing him talk bad about her home.
Trish talks a little about her upcoming match against Alexa Bliss and Elias jokes about it being a swimsuit pillow fight. He says he doesn't date women in their 60s and she slaps the taste out of his mouth. Then Ronda 
Rousey's music hits and she comes out to 
accompany Natalya to the ring for her match.
Bliss comes out and talks some trash to Trish to hype their match at Evolution. Mickie James comes out to even the odds at ringside during the match between Foxy and Nattie.

Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman vs. Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre
  Braun stands on the apron and watches Ziggler and McIntyre stomp Roman into the mat until the ref calls for the bell to DQ The Showoff and his enforcer. Strowman gets in the ring and picks up Reigns. He screams "I told you I wasn't finished with you" and delivers a massive headbutt. He allows McIntyre and Ziggler to continue destroying him until Ambrose runs down in an attempt to make the save. The three get the better of him easily. Rollins is last to come out and suffers the same fate as his brothers. Strowman, Ziggler and McIntyre decimate The Shield one by one. The show ends with Strowman celebrating with Ziggler and McIntyre. Rating: 80/80 Great show as we look forward to HIAC and WWE Evolution!

SmackDown Live



SmackDown opens up with The Miz and Maryse heading to the ring. 

We see footage of Maryse's interference in the win over Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam.


Miz said he closed his eyes to feel the moment. Two nights ago at SummerSlam, something happened. Miz says he has a family to think about. Miz starts to cry. Maryse hugs Miz. With a heavy heart, Miz announces that he is retiring… from ever facing Daniel Bryan again. Miz says the eight-year saga of the Miz and Daniel Bryan has come to a conclusion. Miz did what he said he was going to do. Miz beat Bryan in the Barclay Center. Bryan gave Miz everything he had but it wasn’t enough. Miz says he has the hardest punch in the WWE. It’s now time to start Miz’s new life as he watched the new episode of Miz and Mrs. right here on the USA Network.


Bryan comes out on the ramp. Bryan calls Mis a coward. Miz tries to speak and Bryan calls Miz a coward over and over again. Miz stands behind Maryse and tells Bryan that the record books will not say “coward” It just says the Miz beat Bryan at SummerSlam. Miz says Bryan will never have a chance to go up against him ever again. Bryan tells Miz to shut up. Bryan says Miz cheated to win. It’s just another layer in the facade that is the Miz. Bryan says he is going to expose Miz for the wanna-be Hollywood actor cosplaying as a wrestler. Maryse grabs a mic and tells Bryan to retire and change his name to Daniel Bella. Brie Bella runs down to the ring. Maryse rolls out of the ring. Miz steps in front of Brie. Brie punches Miz over and over again. Bryan tells Miz that at Hell in a Cell Miz and Maryse will face Bryan and Brie.



Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy 

Hardy trips him and stomps him below the belt to get himself disqualified. He knocks Orton out of the ring and throws him over the announce table.

Orton tries to get control, but Jeff continues to beat him all around the ringside area. They fight through the crowd into the production area. Hardy uses a chair to inflict more damage before laying Randy on top of a table. Hardy climbs onto some equipment boxed and puts Orton through a table with a Swanton Bomb.

Becky Lynch comes out and says she deserves to be standing in the ring as the women’s champion and Charlotte deserved the beating she got for stealing her moment. She talks about how she fought to earn her title shot as the crowd chants her name. She says the crowd acts like they like her but she questions if they were really behind her the whole time.
Charlotte comes out and throws down the women's title before tackling Lynch in the ring. They trade punches back and forth and roll out of the ring. After several officials fail to break up the fight, Paige calls the whole division to the ring to get between them. Even a dozen women have a hard time keeping them separated.

Renee Young welcomes AJ Styles to the ring for an interview after a replay of his match with Samoa Joe is shown. AJ has trouble coming up with the right words.



AJ says SummerSlam didn't end the way he wanted but he doesn't regret what he did to Samoa Joe because Joe crossed a line. He promises to rip Joe's heart out if he ever mentions his family again. Joe appears next to the stage and pulls AJ down to put him in the Coquina Clutch. He chokes out the champ and then grabs a mic to address Wendy Styles directly. He says AJ won't be home to tuck in the kids 

tonight because he is already asleep.

RAW

Raw opens with Roman Reigns coming out and holding up the universal title. He says he is a man of his word and he beat Brock just like he said he would.
Reigns says he wants to defend the title against a man who deserves a shot more than anyone. He names Finn Balor.
After Balor and Reigns agree to a match, Baron Corbin comes out and says it's not happening because he is going to face Finn again. Angle comes out and books Corbin vs. Lashley and Balor vs. Reigns for later.

Paul Heyman shows up in Kurt Angle's office and demands a rematch for Brock Lesnar. Angle tells him he can make the rematch whenever he wants, and it will be a long time before The Beast gets his match. Heyman says he envisions the match taking place at Hell in a Cell. Kurt says it's not happening and walks away.



Corbin comes into Kurt's office and complains about not getting what he wants. Angle tells him it's not his job to make him happy. Corbin says he is going to go talk to Stephanie


After a video package hyping the Super Show-Down in Australia.



Sasha and Bayley and Ember Moon vs. The Riott Squad

Triple H comes out to talk about the success of NXT TakeOver and SummerSlam before getting to his upcoming match against The Undertaker.

Triple H recalls his match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 28 and how it was the end of an era. He says so much has changed since then for everyone. The crowd chants "You still got it" as Triple H talks about how his generation was special. He says he agreed to face The Undertaker one more time because he wants that special feeling again.

Elias is in the ring after the break and he strums out a little tune. He says someone sabotaged him last night and he fired three of his crew members because of it. He doesn't name any suspects. For some reason, Curt Hawkins interrupts him. He says he is feeling lucky and wants to face Elias so he can break his losing streak. Elias calls Hawkins a loser and tells him to leave. Hawkins isn't satisfied leaving and he officially challenges Elias to a match right now. Elias agrees and a ref runs down to officiate.

The women's division is around the ring when we return. Stephanie McMahon comes out to have a special presentation for Ronda Rousey. She talks about how proud she is of all the women in the division and the upcoming Evolution PPV.

Stephanie takes credit for Rousey's success. Before she can finish talking, Rousey makes her way to the ring. Ronda refuses a handshake from Steph. Rousey invites all of the women to get on the apron because they are on the same level.
Rousey promises she won't be like Brock Lesnar and plans on competing regularly. Stephanie shows a picture of what Rousey did to Bliss last night to show how violent she is. Ronda says she will only break the arms of people who deserve it and starts getting closer to Steph. She brings McMahon down and puts her in the armbar for a few seconds. The heels all help her at ringside while the babyfaces gather around Rousey to celebrate.

Stephanie tells Angle to take a mandatory vacation and puts Constable Corbin in charge of the show for the time being

Braun hands in the briefcase, but before the bell can ring, The Shield's music hits and we see Rollins and Ambrose come out in their Shield gear to back up their friend. Strowman stares down all three men before he goes after Reigns. Rollins and Ambrose pounce on him immediately. Ambrose takes apart an announce table so they can put Braun through it with 
the Triple Powerbomb. Strowman kicks Reigns away, but he gets nailed with a Spear a second later. They grab Strowman again and put him through the table.

The show ends with The Shield standing over the body of Strowman.

Rating: 70/70
Pretty decent show and matches but the most awesome part was the ending.
